GaGa will win 7+ awards I reckon. I'm a big Beyonce fan but to be honest, Videophone is hardly her best song/video to date! it doesnt deserve that many nominations. But hey, happy for her. She's on a break and she's STILL being nominated for awards, haha.

How can Ke$ha be nominated for more awards than Rihanna. Biggest fail ever. Can't believe Rihanna is only nominated for one award.

Glad for Eminem. Shocked that BEP aren't nominated at all!

Rihanna is only nominated for one award? That's shocking. Her videos for Roulette, Wait is over, Hard, Rude boy and Hard have been fantastic. Her videos for me are becoming ever so fantastic.

Yeah, i think the same, everyone says GaGa has made music videos 'artwork' again but I think since Disturbia Rihanna's been making the best videos!

I must admit, Russian Roulette is an amazing video for an amazing song. Deserves way more nominations.

These things can rarely be predicted because it's fan voted.

The technical awards aren't up for voting, so they'll be pretty predictable. I'd imagine Gaga will more or less sweep them with one or two saved for others to make it a little fairer.

Gaga probably should win most of the categories she's nominated for to be perfectly honest. She's easily been the biggest and most consistent act all year with her singles and videos. But, however, fan voting is unpredictable.

Video of the Year should, hands down, go to Bad Romance. As long as she wins that, then I'm not fussed.

The others are a little less clear cut. TiK ToK and California Gurls have been bigger US hits than Bad Romance and Telephone (not worldwide though). So, Female/Pop Video of the Year could go either way. Obviously Gaga's videos are far superior to both of them, but people are voting for the song itself usually.

Collaboration wise, I think Empire State of Mind will beat out Telephone. Airplanes will probably win a lot of awards that it's nominated for too.

Really pleasantly surprised by Florence's nods. Quite of the blue, that one. I guess they're trying to be a little more credible and picking unknown but buzzed about acts. Same goes for Janelle Monae.

Quite funny how many nominations Video Phone got. The VMA's really do love Beyonce so much they couldn't not vote for her at every opportunity. That video is pretty piss poor, and the song barely made any impact. If it wasn't for Gaga I think it's safe to say it would have been swept under the rug. Why Don't You Love Me? is far superior.

Gaga is going to have her work cut out for her with all the different costume changes between category announcements. 18 (incl. VP) nominations, 18 outfits?

I'm guessing they'll give her an extended performance slot too, which is thoroughly deserved. Perhaps to close or open the show? I'm hoping for a Video Phone/Telephone medley separately from Gaga doing Bad Romance/Dance In The Dark with a piano interlude to demonstrate how far her vocals have come.

/end of long post. Apologies for waffling on.

Completely pointless awards.

They only nominate those who will turn up and perform.

I think it's safe to say Bad Romance will sweep the boards, and rightly so!

i was shocked when i read that Rihanna was nominated for 1 award!! i love ALL her video's for her Rated R era-Russian Roulette,Wait Your Turn,Rude Boy,Te Amo and Hard! for me i prefer her more artistic style to Gaga's, Gaga's is about flamboyance while Rihanna is about the message in the song and the artistry of sending that message to viewers, or for pure entertainment value and that is very Madonna inspired i believe! while i think Gaga is going for absolute perfectionism and has some sorta checklist for every video she does. For her the video is to elevate the song somewhat rather than SHOW the song if that makes sense. Bad Romance for me is the best example of bringing the song to life and deserves the nominations but i just don't GET Telephone or Video Phone really :/

SOOO pleased for Florence! glad she's getting awareness in the US and love that Janelle has a category too

Well done to Florence for the nominations, but the biggest shock to me is the Cascada nomination. Probably no chance of winning but nice to see some recognition for them in the US

Cascada are really well known in America's Club scene apparently. I'm pretty sure Evacuate the Dancefloor topped the Billboard 100 Dance Chart.

I really hope Rihanna and Eminem perform Love the Way You Lie together and it'd be awesome to finally see GaGa and Beyonce perform Telephone together on stage!

Who else do you reckon will perform?
