Recording HD channels on the HDR-FOX T2 and copy protection

With all the talk of copy protection do we know for sure that we will be able to record HD programmes onto the HDR-FOX T2 ?
If there are to be any limits what are they likely to be.

many thanks for any replies

The HDR Fox T2 will be able to record HD programs, it would be pretty pointless to market an HD PVR otherwise.

I think the box will also copy to a USB hard drive in the same way as the Foxsat equivalent does.

As I understand it, the copy protection abilities of Freeview HD have not yet been implimented but even if they are, you are almost certainly likely to be able to record onto the HDR in high definition.

Most programmes will be 'copy once' - the setting that enables the Panasonic PVRs with Blu Ray recorders to burn a disc. Some like movies may be 'prime record only' so you cannot take a further copy of the file.

Would it be possible to copy a HD protected recording on the Humax to a dvd recorder in composite definition or does the copy protection apply regardless of the type of copy you are trying to do ?

Assuming freeview+-HD will have the same restrictions as Freesat+-HD then you can use RGB, S-video and composite, just not component
