HAving read many reports blasting corrie for some of the thing that some charcters have said / done regrading todds coming out i would like to say my own little piece.

Frankly well done corrie

People like Veira where brought up with the "gay = bad" attuide and cant suddenly be able to change.

Many young men suffer the same kind of verbal abuse / sterotyping that Todd has suffered when they come out.

Its a brave move for corrie to screen some major any gay sendiment and i congratulate there bravlery and honesty

Mon

*i am sorry if some of the above is hard to understans english is not my first language*

Well Done Mon99! It's about time someone said that. Some people seem to now have hate campaigns against some Corrie characters, infact I even read one post where Vera Duckworth was likened to Hitler!

Coronation Street isn't Queer as Folk, and any reaction to Todd's coming-out have been completely realistic. Yet some people have been very vocal about it, saying it will affect other gay men because they will fear what coming-out will do. Well I'm sorry not all of us wear the rose-tinted spectacles like many gay people seem to do (no pun intended). Homophobic abuse does happen and it would have been completely rubbish of Corrie, and Daran Little, not to portray this.

As far as I'm concerned Coronation Street has handled this story amazingly and has continued to do what it always aims to do...represent real life.

Its a shame that its taken so long for Corrie to do a storyline like this. What happens next will be pivotal to the chances of Corrie winning anything at the next soap awards. Fingers crossed for a good ending.......
