Digital Spy is much more interesting this year...
Cwej

....instead of having one voice (We Love Tickle, We Hate Justine/Cameron), this year, everyone seems independent in their thinking and it's resulted in much more interesting debates. I've enjoyed reading the articles here much more this year.

Well done everyone.

I think that the HMs are more interesting this year, and that's reflected on here.

There are a few bad eggs but no one completely over the top...yes the forum is great...better than all the other big brother ones...

I have to agree. It did get a little boring last year with loads of threads supporting Jon and the boring housemates didnt make for interesting topics. More has happened in the last few weeks of Big Brother than any previous series and I think the threads have reflected this too.

I agree Cwej, though there is a slight tendency, particularly during the 'nightshift' for those who don't support the 'harem' to get slightly short-shrift. Lord knows how someone who supported Jason would be greeted and they're obviously in hiding!

There are still the cliques but none is as large as it was last year where I'm sure to be outside the huge majority of Jon fans must've been unpleasant. Probably to be outside the Alex fans the year before was pretty bad.

In fact, maybe that's why the forum is a bit easier - the fans are a bit less passionate about their favourites?

Bodders...i have supported jason from the beginning but i have been talking more about my other two favourites (victor and stuart)...

ITA, I dont really have a favourite that I want to win at the moment, I just know I dont want it to be Emma, Michelle or Shell.

Ive usually been with the majority of this forum in who I've supported (Alex, Tickle) and being anti E&M puts me in the minority for once, which is cool for a change. I even find myself agreeing with a lot of posts Mr Blonde and homer make at the moment which is a real change LOL.

I post a bit more this year as well as previously with most people supporting the same person you liked around here, the counter arguments were already being made for me LOL

The insidious increase in the use of 'txt spk' is a new annoyance this year. It would be nice to see the mods clamping down on it some.

Could be because there are no clear favourites. I know that in previous years, my opinions have changed greatly:
liked Emma/ don't now
liked Dan/ indifferent now
didn't like Jason/liked him/don't like him
didn't know who Stuart was/ warming to him
liked Marco/ going off him

I've never fluctuated so much. In BB4 I was consistent with my liking of Fed/Jon but there was so much more to like about them. We've been presented with far more complicated characters this time - I expect that I will change my mind again many times before the series is over. One thing I am sure about though, I will never, never warm to Michelle!

Well it's better anyway... Glad you all agree.

I must say, the text speak doesn't bother me at all. If people wanna type like that then let them.

The people that use text speak are usually the people that cant spell...so it doesnt really matter...

Lol Mr B, words like "you" "what" "good" "see" are the toughest to spell it seems !

The txt spk isn't half as bad as it was last year, so we should count ourselves. Mind you it does make it easier when you just slap anyone who can't be bothered to type correctly into the ignore list.

ISTM that if anything, there's more measured and intelligent posters this time round...

Definitely much better this year guys . I didn't bother to post last year because it was so boring. I think the HMs are also more interesting this year (although not more likeable ).

I have to admit to enjoying debating far more this time round - I've been in the minority over supporting particular HM's before (Alex for example) and in the majority (Jon) but this time since there's nobody I've really decided I want to win, it's much easier to be objective, and it's also easier to change my opinions depending on what each particular HM does in a given situation.

I've seen some awfully nasty views on issues to do with the HM's this year though - obviously nobody's going to agree with everyone, and I can usually at least try to see somebody else's point even if I don't agree, but this time round I feel in some cases it's gone beyond debate and into personal arguments, something I always promised myself I'd avoid - but sadly haven't.

many decide including myself to support the housemate by either who entertains you the most or who you would like as a friend

tbh maybe thats why this year is nicer on here as there is no one who i'd want to be a friend so the only option is they have to entertain so we are on the same wavelength more ...even by wanting different HMs to entertain

it doesnt get so personal that way

Nope! I loved hating that vile creep. To not be in a sad gang that called themselves "Alex's Angels" caused me no problems at all

And one thing I can safely say in regards to the vast majority of the board is that BB this year is far better then last year.
