It's not out yet so who knows. I would give the sagemcom freeview HD pvr a go. Picture quality is as good and it hasmore useful user interface and features. It was released too early, like the philips, but credit to sagemcom they have gone out of their way to seek out user feedback and have been putting out software updates to remove bugs people have been seeing. I think you can pick these up for under £220 but I would spend a bit more to look for a 500gb model, as the HD recordings take up much more space

Reviews are already up on some sites as they have been given advance models from the stocks that have obviously now arrived in the UK. Humax's timetable is for them to be in the shops from next week, subject of course to availability.

Humaxdirect are accepting pre-orders at the full price of £329 "for delivery from week commencing 9 August" http://humaxdirect.co.uk/product.asp...=10095&cat=stb

Yes thats right. They'll have them in stock once the first shipments have arrived into the UK. Shouldn't be long now

I've been fortunate enough to have had a brief play with one and it is looking good. There was only one area i thought the Humax designers too a step backwards, but everything else looked pretty good.

I'm lucky enough to have one of these and the firmware is coming along and looking promising

There was an event at Humax HQ in London a month ago and journalists had the opportunity for a hands on go after the presentation. Some of outfits attending did useful video spots too. I noticed Nigel and I are seen sitting at the 'front of the class' in one of them

Some selected retail outlets will be getting the very first shipment by the end of next week. Don't know whether that means the first customers to get them will be by the weekend or the beginning of the week after. Not long now any road

Techradar say their box packaging references internet radio, catchup TV and Humax support via their TV portal will be available in a couple of months via a software update.

I forget which one it is. I think it was the Which report. unfortunately you will only be able to put a back of head to a name though, whichever it is. I have to be in West Yorkshire next week if you want to meet up for a coffee and put a name to a face!

This thread has been moved. Anyway, it was the recordings library. Imagine your file manager/windows explorer only showing 5 over sized entries listed before you need to scroll down
Hopefully there is a toggle option in the way recordings are displayed; like for example on the Foxsat-HDR you can have a file view of lots of entries going down the screen (which is what most people use i imagine), or there is an option to display each entry in a much bigger format including a thumbnal next to each, but with much fewer entries on screen. Here's hoping there is a toggle anyway.
P.s. I seem to remember the HDR-FOX music or pictures listings being OK so there is hope.
