He assumes his dad did not know, but it's more likely his dad did not want to acknowledge it or bring it up...

someone I know had similar behaviour etc as marco when he was only 12. we all knew then, before he even triwed relationships. If Marco has been behaving this way at home, surely every one must have guessed he was gay.

Camp does not necessarily equal gay.

Unless Marco had said anything (or Marco's dad had seen him snogging another bloke), I can't see how he would know definitely where Marco's preferences lie.

Well, Marco does indeed take mincing to a previously unseen level. But remember, Marco doesn't have a big bushy tash or wear leather bondage gear. Hence, inconclusive.

Liking people of the same sex, having high or low hormone levels or some genetical factor that make your voice high and being camp are not necessarily related at all. The surprising thing is no one in his family asked him though as the obvious answer is sometimes the right one.

What Marco actually said was that his father didnt know about him being gay untill just before he came onto the show but his mother however has known for a while.

Don't think so! I know someone on the same course as him at Kingston Uni, and when I asked about him the description was "very, very camp".

It's all a bit Brian though isn't it. He didn't tell his parents, he 'came out' on the show.

I'm not sure what to believe, he has played the poor man's Brian since the auditions (the pathetic 'how do I take this microphone off' in the mock diary room). Brian had the novelty factor, as well as being totally stupid in the nicest possible way.

Marco is a law student playing stupid and playing the public as fools imo.

When my brother came out we all heaved a collective sigh of relief. We all knew , he just hadn't actually said the words. I think he was quite disappointed that he didn't get more of a reaction........

well maybe not, or i suspect in reality his dad does know he is gay but just didn't let on he knew. otherwise it could be like that little britain sketch with the only gay man in the village when he is told the ultra-camp hairdresser is gay and thinks that a surprise.

Isn't his Dad Italian?
There are cultural differences in what is seen as being Gay.
Apart from not chasing women, Marcos behaviour may not be seen as a gay thing to an Italian man.
