The psychologists can they remove a housemate?
Posy

Just wondering if the psychologists can over rule producers. I'm getting concerned that that there is a risk to some housemates mental health in the current house situation. Yes, we laugh at their antics. But where do you cross the line? Can a psychologist say that a housemate must leave?

I would imagine so. BB has a duty of care to their contestants, so if they were advised by qualified psychologists to remove someone, their duty of care would overide anything else

I would imagine that if there was a big enough reason for concern, then they will make the housemate leave, which would be the right thing to do.

was Jade really losing it or just trying to play the gamefor attention? with ther stupidity she wouild have got it wrong, but being stupid is not a mental health issue is it? If so there are times I have such an issue don't we all?

The producers can remove a housemate at any time if a psychologist has advised them it would be in the HM's best interests to be evicted or if there was any wider threat to others in the group. It is in the HM's contracts.

With Jade it wasn't so much her losing it as her just getting into situations and the press reacting to her badly which they were worried could cause a security threat to her personal safety while in and out of the house. They were looking at ways to bring her out early but eventually decided against it. What made matters worse for the producers was that her mother was personally campaigning to the producers to bring her out early on the psychology/safety issue - legally if Jades mum would have taken it that way (which she was threatening to do) it could have ended up in an embarrassing court situation for Endemol.
