As in a new girl band with the name Spice Girls? Oh dear. Disaster.

Why can't people just leave things as they are...the Spice Girls are over. it was great while it lasted.

I'm a fan of Geri and the Spice Girls, but this is a terrible idea and I hope it stalls..... quickly!!

A new girlband. They won't be called Spice Girls! lol Geri has always said this is what she wanted to do at some point in her career so I guess the time is now.

People forget it was Geri who helped form Girls Aloud and got Cheryl and Nicola a place on the live shows when Louis wasn't keen. How different Girls Aloud may have been without her early pressence.

Eugh. I bet they'll all be too OTT. Really brassy and in your face, kind of like The Dolly Rockers were...before they faded into obscurity.

In the words of Robbie, "you can't manufacture a miracle". Yes, the SG's were manufactured as a band, but you could never manufacture that chemistry they had together, the personalities, the vibrance, that 'je ne sais quoi' when you saw them together.

Not a good move from Geri I'm afraid. I thought she and the others were busy working on the musical "Viva Forever" anyway??

I agree the Spice Girls were a none off event that will never happen again but I don't see the issue with Geri wanting to manage a girl band. She has long said this was something she planned to do and with Geri's mind and vision it is sure to at least make waves. She is very clever and knows her stuff. She never gets the credit she deserves. You only have to look at how crap the Spices went after her exit to see who was the force.

Don't get me wrong, as I've said (probably quite annoyingly from other FM's perspective lol) on this board, I am a huge fan of Geri and have followed her career since she started with the band. But I don't see the point in trying to re-create something which can never be recreated. Maybe it's the press taking it all out of proportion (they wouldn't do that, surely ) but if she's going down the 'new Spice Girls' route then it will make people compare the 2 and the new band wont get a look in and will most likely flop.

I just want a new solo album (even for download from her website), and I hear she's recording again so that news would make me happier than her creating a SG's tribute band.

Wish this annoying, talentless woman would **** Off once and for all.
The last thing the world needs now is another shitty girl group.

I read the article to mean that she wants to create an all girl new band that has the same energy and excitement. Not that she wants to call it the Spice Girls or they will do old Spice Girls songs. but maybe I read it wrong since it wasn't 100% clear.
I think that she does know a lot about the music business so she could be a successful manager and a new band could work. But not if she calls it the Spice Girls or does their old songs.

Agree with Carmen Queasy, it will most likely flop. The Spice Girls were great back then but as others have said, it'll be hard to recreate something that was that big, that will "take over the world"

I don't think this will work, the Spice Girls were great while they were around, I don't think trying to recreate them is a good idea. I'd say the new girlband will flop very quick.
