fave Oasis studio album and why?
Mine is Definetly Maybe as all these tracks hold so much nostalgia for me as it was one of the first albums I bought as a pre teen. I remember listening to "Live Forever" for about an hour straight.
I can listen to it and be transformed back to being 12 again. ![]() I miss Oasis

Cliched, but the (What's the Story) Morning Glory album, absolutely love it - She's Electric, Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, Roll With It, Some Might Say, Morning Glory, love them.
I was 6 when it was released, and I only bought the album a couple of years ago!Definitely Maybe is definitely [maybe :P] my second favourite though, I love Live Forever! And I like Heathen Chemistry just because it has Songbird [favourite Oasis song ] but also Little By Little and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

I think I'm one of the only people that really liked Be Here Now-
Stand By Me is awesome, along with I Hope I Think I Know and It's Getting Better Man. Don't Go Away is good,if a Slide Away rip-off and My Big Mouth is decent as well. Just me then?

My favourite is Definitely Maybe, although I also love The Masterplan (if it counts OP?!). |

I think Definitely Maybe, and What's The Story... are two of the all-time classic albums, so it's pretty hard to judge the rest of the back catalogue against that, it feels harsh. I do like Don't Believe The Truth as others have said. I think most bands would have killed to even make their mediocre albums.

"Definitely Maybe" - because it introduced us to Oasis. To have:
"Supersonic" "Shakermaker" "Live Forever" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol" as your first 4 singles and all from the one album - most bands would kill for that! Each subsequent album, for me, has merit. There are tracks I love on all of them. I think "Be Here Now" is the odd one out in a way because it's SO overblown and production heavy. I can understand why Noel doesn't like it but he does say that some of the tracks are good - he just wishes someone had told them "enough is enough already"!!

This is a hard one. The only album of theirs I don't have is SOTSOG, which I really do need to get if I plan to have a life full of success and happiness and chocolate.
What's the Story is just an era defining album. There just isn't a duff track. I know it's obvious to say that album, but there is a reason it's such a critically acclaimed album. But Definitely Maybe is such a great, great album. It's like the ultimate "f**k you! to the world" kind of album. And I also love Be Here Now. Stand By Me is such a personal song to me, it brings back a significant memory. I also loved Dig Out Your Soul. I thought that was a really good album. 2008 was such a poor year for music really. The only other good album out was Day & Age. The combined forces of Oasis & The Killers really gave the world a good seeing to musically. There was a wee bit of filler on DOYS, but not enough to notice. In fact I think there were only two tracks I didn't like (and by that, in Oasis terms, I mean I thought were okay). But yeah, probably What's the Story. If Barack Obama were to be an album, he'd be that one. |

I would have put the masterplan but if we're going with studio albums I'd say BE HERE NOW. Massive album- D'You Know What I Mean is one of the greatest album openers of all time, sure it's long and a bit overblown but every track on here delivers. the absolute standout track is Fade In Out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bceRI...eature=related, and Stand By Me, Girl In The Dirty Shirt, Don't Go Away, All Around The World etc... would be any other bands best song. Most arrogant record on the planet, "Into my big mouth, you could fly a plane, I'll put on my shoes while I'm walkin slowly down the hall of fame" Quote:

That album just has a bad reputation. Some of Oasis' best work is on there, but Noel got the tracklisting wrong putting little james on instead of let's all make believe, which let it down.
Their worst album is Heathen Chemistry by far. And I don't mind Heathen Chemistry. In fact, there isn't an Oasis album I can say I dislike. Though I probably listen to it least out of all the Oasis albums. |

I'm definitely going to get it. In fact one of my favourite Oasis songs is the b-side to Sunday Morning Call. I find that The Masterplan, is better than most bands' actual albums, if you know what I mean?
. I've just got used to the fact that Oasis put their best tracks as b sides, to the general downfall of their actual albums. Even without counting the masterplan album b sides you have, my sister lover, let's all make believe, round are way, full on, cigarettes in hell, cloudburst, d'yer wanna be a spaceman, one way road, it's better people, flashbax, the fame, sad song, step out etc... Oasis' most underrated album imo is dig out your soul. It's a really solid album and their best studio album since WTSMG (not counting The masterplan which is obviously better).

Best Studio Album is Definitely Maybe for me, I love it. One of only a handful of albums I can always listen to in full, some albums you have to be in the mood to hear a whole album, the way the artist wants you to, with Definitely Maybe I feel it's either listen to it all or listen to none of it.
Their best album ever if The Masterplan, as good as Definitely Maybe is, The Masterplan is MILES about it, it's unreal how amazing that album is. Be Here Now and Standing On The Shoulders have their moments, but I prefer Heathen Chemistry to them both. Morning Glory is still a classic. The thing with Oasis albums, as I've found just now thinking about them, is you try to write one of them off as their worst, then remember how amazing 2 or 3 songs are on it that you can't consign a whole album as worst when it has such amazing songs on. |

Definately Maybe for me. First time i heard it i thought it was a classic and nothing has made me change my mind on that. Morning Glory is a close second.

Agreed. Most bands would kill to have A-sides as good as Oasis' B-sides. |

Definitely Maybe, closely followed by Morning Glory. Both albums really defined an era for me. Although Oasis never had a bad album in my opinion. Just underrated ones

I love definitely maybe and whats the story equally.. both are brilliant, one is raw and powerful the other is polished with liams best vocals out of all the albums.
Also love be here now but if only it wasn't so over produced and the songs didn't last so damn long it would have been the best oasis album. After that liams vocals declined but sotsog is always unfairly slated, ok there are a few weak numbers in there but its worth the money just to hear gas panic which is one of the best oasis songs that is hardly ever played. love heathen chemistry which seems to be not many peoples favourite on here? (born on a different cloud is brilliant), that was only let down by she is love which is weak imo. In general a great rock 'n' roll album. My worst oasis album has gotta be don't believe the truth, the vocals are terrible from liam (comapare to whats the story and be here now) and the drumming isn't as good as alan whites drumming. Only a couple of good tracks although the importance of being idle is a classic. And finally dig out yer soul is back to form, much better vocals and some outstanding songs and probably the most different oasis album from the others. A good album to end on ![]() still as has been said.. even oasis at their worst is better than a lot of the garbage around today

Hard to pick a favourite album as there all good in different ways but if forced i would have to say Definitely Maybe just for the fact it's pure adrenaline. You can listen to the whole album and while some might not be your favourites there still great songs to listen to and as for the better known ones there just sensational and burst you into life when listening to them. What's the story (Morning Glory) is brilliant aswell it's got such anthems on it you often find yourself singing along to the likes of Wonderwall and Dont look back in anger and WTSMG is just an epic tune. The Masterplan is brilliant aswell and just underpins how great Oasis were. When you have Half the World Away, Listen up, The Masterplan, Talk Tonight etc as B-sides while releasing great albums then you know your the buisinsess. Be Here now is a good album aswell, yes it's a tadj too long for some but i think it adds an extra something to the album that it's soo overblown and arrogant. Kicking off and album with D'you know what i mean just states it's intention from the off and the line "Comming in a mess going out in style" is just class. The rest of the tunes on it are pretty ace aswell. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants is good but has it's odd shakey moments. Little James to this day is the one Oasis song i just cant listen to from start to finish but the likes of Go let it out and Gas Panic more than make up for it. It's quite an underrated album yet when you listen to the album it's actualy alright. Although as others have said the likes of Lets all make believe should really have been on that album. Heathen Chemistry is good aswell, it's efficient withought being spectacular and has some great songs on it. Dont Believe the Truth is a very good album it's scattered with really good songs all the way through Dig Out Your Soul was a cracking album, i remember buying it when it first came out and being blown away by the likes of Shock of the Lightning, Bag It Up, Outta Time and Falling Down which is just majestic! True enough Oasis have a fine catalogue of cracking B-sides which for some reason on another they seem to not want to put on the actual albums. This is part of the reason i dont like the whole "other than two albums they were sh*t" tag cause the albums only tell half the story on how good they were. Aside from the ones you mention you also have; Alive, (I Got) The Fever, Street Fighting Man, Carry Us All, (You've Got) The Heart Of A Star, Eyeball Tickler, Wont Let You Down, Pass Me Down The Wine, Who Put The Weigh Of The World On My Shoulders, Boy With The Blues, Colour Of My Life etc. They could easily do another Masterplan-esque B-side album that would be littered with brilliant songs
