I can't believe the Samsung wins on so many accounts especially internet. The Iphone is the best browser you can get.

I have tried the Galaxy and it's cheap, massive and tries to copy the Iphone. For sleek design I think the Samsung Wave is much neater and a more quality design. If you buy a phone thinking it's an Iphone you will be disappointed because all these copy phones are poor. Atleast the likes of Nokia have there own OS and have a unique design despite being slow software wise.

Anybody wanting an good Iphone copy go for the Wave but if you want the real deal get the Iphone.

One advantage other phones will always have over iPhone is that they don't have to use iTunes, one of the worst designed pieces of software I've ever come across.

No flash means the browser can't display web pages as they were designed to be displayed, how on earth can it be the best browser?

In terms of speed.

Not much in the way of technical information here. And I always thought safari was the browser but hey I'm not the owner,

Check the review for a fairly balanced summarisation with no clear winner because there certainly is'nt one.
Lucky iPhone users will eventually get more improved features so as to compete.

Hmm I am guessing you're an iPhone fan then?

Pound for Pound the top range of Android devices beat iPhone 4 hand down in terms of feature set, but as we all know what sets the iPhone apart is its UI which we know is exceptionally fluid and beautiful to use. Android in that sense had a lot of catching up to do, the most aesthetically pleasing android UI probably has to be the X10 and X10 mini, 4 screens but functionally useless (Timescape and Mediascape).

It's always subjective when it comes to mobiles, I give a lot of credence to Apple for their simple user interface, it really is a dream to use. However with that simple user interface comes limitations, when compared against the Galaxy S which can display widgets and such like, live updated information. I'm an information freak I like to be constantly updated with new weather and such like, the iPhone doesn't offer me the ability in which to do that without opening up an app or downloading one.

Where as android does, that said android is the IT geeks wet dream in terms of what can be done with it. But I digress.....they are generally aimed at different markets, Apple has always designed it's iPhone to be a media consumption device in terms of the apps and music you can download. Android handsets have generally always been about the information you consume as opposed to the media. Majority of touchscreens on both platforms as comparable and thus any difference is unlikely to be felt by the end user.

Whilst I am no Apple fan I do appreciate their strengths and what they can offer. However I do also balance it with offering an Android option.

Saying all that.....I'm a Blackberry user...go figure?

My friends has this samsung phone. It's pretty good, especially the UI, but it is a blatant iPhone copy except it feels a bit cheap and plasticky. It's quick though, so if you don't want a rip off contract on the iPhone, get one of these.

Must be a very good phone then considering the shouts of iPhone copy without explaining why.

News to me that square icons and black make a copy.
Obviously square looks bigger on limited real estate so that is more out of necessity.

Heck Apple probably copied my 2003 PDA layout.

Also consider that Apple buys everything including most of the iPhone from Samsung.

Yes atleast design wise HTC, Blackberry, Nokia all have some kind of distinctive own image smartphone appeal.

The SE new phones look awful. Not a fan of Android OS either considering it's quite new it seems to have caught on but I heard it's complicated.

The Samsung Galaxy is at least £5 a month cheaper than the i-phone for a similar amount of mins/SMS/Net etc and it's also £150 cheaper!

That said it's display is better and I have a feeling that whilst the range of Android apps if already good there will be an explosion of them now that there are sub £100 android handsets available.

Just got my new Galaxy yesterday and having has Windows Mobile 6.1 I'm amazed at just how much of a game changer Android is. I have hardly put the thing down since I got it and can imagine spending a lot of time with it rather than with a PC.

I would probably still go with the Desire or Nexus One.

Why be suprised that the iPhone is not rated the best? It will have zero impact on those who are in the queue to get one - for some only Apple will do! - it does not mean that it is the best only that it is the most desirable.

As for the Galaxy S feeling cheap - well yes I am sure Samsung kept the price down by making it in plastic but it also kept the weight down and with a 4" screen it could have been an absolute brick.

Browsers - ALWAYS chrome over Safari, a no brainer.

A diverse comparison for the soon to be new debate.

Can't we wait and do the comparison when we actually know what's in the iPhone 5 rather than basing a comparison on rumour and speculation?

How can you not be a fan when you have only heard it is complicated?

One of the big problems in these debates is the input from people who only have experience of one or the other OS and phone. The arguments used are usually those straight from the fanboy manual (from both sides) and not from any experience that included both devices (Not counting a 10 minute play in a phone shop).
I don't think the iPhone 5 will add anything to move it back to the front, but it won't be a ground breaking phone, as good as it will be. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with the 6 once they get over the shock that they are no longer that sought after and there are better alternatives and more choice now, opposed to when they launched....
