I dont have any difference on my EPG, all the channels look exactly the saem.
They only appear slightly greyed out when unavailable - like when you are doing two recordings and want to watch something else and that channel is not possible.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I think you are actually talking about the main Channel Listing screen (when you just hit "ok" on its own - which does behave as you suggest) and NOT the actual EPG screen (programme listings), yes?

(Edit: Grey is just the natural colour of ALL channel titles on the EPG screens...)

On checking I see you are correct. After thinking about it I realise it would be quite tricky doing it on the EPG!

The easy way is to simply use the channel up/down buttons which cycle through the available channels.

The best way is to be aware of what channels you can view and if possible change a recording to an alternate region to make the channel you want to watch viewable

If the software is to be broadcast in 2nd half October it must now be fully tested, so please put it up on the website and let us have it !

Please give us full channel names in the Main EPG, not just in the List section. "C 4 + 1" is silly looking, especially when Channel 4+1 will easily fit in, as it does in List mode, so why not on the main EPG when they are the exact same size of space to go into?! Same for Movies 4 Men, Movies 4 Men 2, and a few other channels that are abbreviated for no reason!

i don't think this is controlled by the box directly I think EPG names are controlled by whatever data is sent from the Freesat transponder?

In any case, it will be too late now for any extra changes to the update that's about to hit as it must be undergoing final testing by now.

Humax state "TBA Second half of October", meaning the date of the update will be announced in the second half of October, not the update will be out in the second half of October.

Presumably the fact that they aren't quite ready to give an exact date yet means that some bugs have been found during testing and it's a question of how long it takes to sort them out and retest.

meaning the date the update is to be broadcast will be advised - I think you can read "the second half of October" as either an indication of the broadcast date or the date of notification of a broadcast date.

tgabber - I would be surprised if Humax was still testing it - I have read somewhere they had a lot on at the moment.

p.s. A virtual bottle of bubbly to the first person to spot it on the website.

The beta site has changed a lot - I see there is a RSS feed for new downloads (but nothing for the HDR there).

It is controlled by the individual boxes. The names of the channels are in full or better abbreviated on other Freesat STB's so it is Humax who are labelling them this way, for whatever reason they're doing it. If they can type the names out in full in one section, then why not in another when both sections have the same size of space to display the names. It just seems very silly to do it that way.

The update is with the SQE team having its quality test after having had it's functional testing.

I don't imagine that HDR does the abbreviations - the logic would be very tricky - My guess is that channels have both short and long names, perhaps even a medium length version as well.

The short would be used for the channel display on the box front. It may well be up the manufacturer which they use where.

As has already been pointed out, Humax stated that the OTA update would be announced in the second half of this month, not that it would be broadcast then.

No - actually you are incorrect, they announced that the OTA will be late October, see below extract from email sent by Graham North of Humax on 15th October. I think the wording is quite clear "Software updates will be broadcasting ...late October". So where is our firmware available for download the week before ?

Software updates will be broadcasting for the following products within the next month:-

* HD & HDR-FOX T2, week commencing the 18th of October
o HD-FOX T2: Single Tuner PVR, with standard PVR features (new download)
o HDR-FOX T2: Various issues and features updated (new download)
* FOXSAT HD & HDR, late October
o FOXSAT HD & HDR: Various issues and features updated (new download)
* PVR9200T, PVR9150T, PVR9300T mid November
o PVR9200T, PVR9150T, PVR9300T: version v.23 (already broadcast 6 times)

I'm surprised that Bob even bothers to provide updates. He simply can't win. Give him a break.
