Police are now investigating the violent incidents which occurred in the Big Brother House in the early hours of this morning. They were called to the house by horrified viewers last night, and spoke to the production team.

They have taken away tapes of the incidents, and will then decide wether to press charges.

Depending on the outcome of their investigations, the show may be suspended permanently.

The police can not press charges. The people have to.

False story it appears. The only criminal charges the police could bring would be against Endemol in a corporate capacity. But, I don't think E. have broken the law...

Thanks, next time I would advise you to include the source with the post. Too many jokers on here.

Correction: just confirmed it, this is real.

The police may be speaking to Emma about pressing charges. Maybe. <-- PURELY A RUMOUR/COMMENT FROM ME, DO NOT REPOST THAT COMMENT AS FACT. Thanks.

Wrong. If someone commits a CRIME. then it's the CROWN who presses charges.

And btw, Emma won't be at the centre of teh investigation, it'll be Victor and Jay. Emma's "black" comment wont be treated as a racist comment.

and my post from other thread:
GOOD! Victor, pack your bags, with any luck you'll be unpacking them in another confined space!

He's committed 2 counts of assault and battery on nadia and emma, and his aggresive behavious, threats and whatnot wont help his case. He wants to ACT like a gantsa, well lets hope he goes down liek one too.

Emma made a negative association between a race/skin colour and someones actions. She was inciting racial hatred and commiting racial abuse.

Wrong. A change in the law a few years ago ensured that authorisation from the victim of domestic abuse or violence was no longer needed to press charges.

Leslie Ash is a prime example. She has said nothing, but the police have asked her friends and family to give statements which may enable them to prosectute Lee Chapman.

emma inciting racial hatred??? she may or may not be racist and she may have committed racial abuse at victor and that deserves a warning from bb but how from that do you get to incitement?? you seem to have said the same thing in just about every thread..

Are Victor's abusive threats supposed to go unchecked then? Funny how only Emma's words are analysed to the n-degree. How about some balance? nd

The police have the video footage evidence to charge some of the housemates with affray. They need a complaint from the victim before charging with assault. The new law mentioned above means that if (as an example) a wife reports her husband for beating her and he is charged, even if she wants to make a retraction statement they can proceed with the prosecution based on the first statement she made. In the past, once a retraction statement was made they could not take the prosecution any further.

I agree this is a very good point. Some people have latched onto to those 5 or 6 words emma said and ignored the whole 30 minutes of abuse that was thrown about before she said anything.

Something tells me that most of our questions will go unanswered after tonights ch4 show... so much for live feed showin us the full story huh?

WRONG!!

The offence of affray can only take place in a PUBLIC PLACE.

The BB House is not a public place.

No case to answer.

The Public Order Act 1986 provides that Affray can take place in a public or private place.

I'm no lawyer, so this may be a brain fart on my part, but if the polive have the video footage of last night and are investigating a possible complaint/crime whatever, then wouldn't this stop C4 from being able to show any of it tonight, because it may be part of a future legal matter?

and dont forget that emma had to sit through 5 days couped up listening to what he would do to her if she was to come back into the house

From the C4/Endemol statement:

"The local police have made enquiries about events in the house last night following a handful of calls from members of the public. At present they have given us no indication of any issues arising from last night's broadcast."

Read into that what you will.

Jeez Louise!

Talk about over reaction!

1. I can't believe the police are actually bothering to get involved. As a tax payer I am totally appalled that my money is being wasted in what is little more than an attention seeking device by the Met's unimaginative and lazy PR department.

2. According to today's Evening Standard the station was deluged by "outraged viewers" ringing to complain - huh? Wasn't it 2am in the morning? How far past the watershed do you have to go? Don't these people have anything better to do????

3. If you want to see small minded immature ****s who can't hold their liquor beating the sh1t out of each other why not visit Croydon on almost any night of the week.

It's all just so pathetic...
