Ive been an Orange customer for almost a year now and i can safely say its the best company ive dealt with for ages. The customer service is excellent, it really is fantastic. If you have a problem with your phone etc and cant be solved in one call, THEY ring you back, you get the same person to talk to and they will call you to keep you informed of the process and they even have a chat with you while your waiting, no crap classical music down your ear, at the worst you get pop. Take tonight for example, i had a problem with my 3310 fone about a month ago and it was sorted quickly and tonight i received a call from the same girl who i spoke to the very first time to ask if everything was going ok. I would reccommend Orange to anyone. I have infact! You also get a load of freebies. Im on JustTalk and get 5 free text messages everyday, thats almost 160 a month, 2 reserve calls for emergencies after i run out of credit, student discount off calls (20%) and also off text messages (40%).

Its fantastic, no wonder they were voted the best in terms of mobile operators customer service. They treat their reps really well too, excellent wage and fab bonuses. Every employee received a box of chocs to celebrate coz of the award mentioned above.

I dont work for Orange but i do have the opportunity to sell their product at work and i must plug them so much i deserve comission! LOL

I had One2One previously and wernt too bad but BT Cellnet have got to be the worst, after Sky of course! Although Sky is getting better.

My experience of Orange is the same. Their customer service really does shine out from most other companies I have dealings with.

The only critiscm I woul have is that sometimes the automated switchboard can be tedious with the number of levels you have to go through, but I suppose this is the age we live in.

Although....not too much of a problem as I don't have to phone them that often!

Along with First Direct, Orange are the the most professional & efficient company I have dealt with when it comes to customer service.

Perhaps their deal with NTL will see some of it rub off ?.....Then again !!!

yeah i'll add a 4th good comment, i never took out the insurance on me phone when i got it, then few months later come down the stairs on a bus, fone in back pocket, and fell against the side and smashed the screen rang them up and they allowed me to join the insurance and then claim for a new phone under the insurance policy therefore saving me loads of money

Wouldnt it be nice if Sky could vbe so nice? It makes you feel so much better knowing that the money you give the Orange goes to good use, ie. excellent staff training. If sky was this good!

What do you think of ASDA customer service? I rate it

I would just like to say that NTL's customer service is also very good. If you have a problem they're very helpfull and professional. Like Orange, they do phone you back and get the same person to do it aswell. Words cannot describe how excellent they really are.

its funny isnt it how much better you feel though giving money to these companies when you know if you have problems they are more than happy to help you out, Shame skys CS is so crap.

I don't know if it is still the same now, but when I used to work for ASDA your job used to depend on keeping the customer happy.

If you weren't the sort of person that could do that, you generally didn't last long. Strange really, one of the few companies left that actually puts its customers first.

i agree with that.i work threre and if my customer isnt happy thats just tuff shit. i hate working their, they treat workers like shit and customers like god.

My experience of Orange so far has been appalling. I had to deal with over 150 company phones all through Orange, so each day I'd be on hold for at least 45mins before being able to get through to anyone, to talk about various problems. Then as soon as I was put through, you'd just get passed round from person to person, who each came back with a different answer to the same problem.

Plus my experience of NTL Customer Service so far has been pretty good ... but judging from a lot of people's comments, I'll wait a while before outwardly recommending them.

Yeah they have but no one does it. Its pathetic the way they go on. If i get a ****** talking to me like shit im not going to be nice back. If they are nice to me, i will go out of my way to help them.

PS. The service in Orange shops is also excellent

I have had no problems with Orange - been with them since they started up and also have a dozen company phones on an Orange account.

Orange appeared to suffer from a lack of staff in their call centers early on but are spot on now. NTL are getting better - I guess only time will tell whether they will get a JD Powers award for customer service

Here's a letter i found from a very dissatisfied Orange customer.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Mobile Phone Number xxxxxxxxxxx

Having telephoned a number of your operatives and gained an entirely unsuccessful response I have elected to write to you in the hope that you can resolve my problem swiftly. On Tuesday this week in a fit of unbridled stupidity I decided to leave my mobile phone on the roof of my car and drive off to an appointment. Approximately half a mile into said journey I swore copiously, turned the car around and returned to the scene of my idiocy. As I live in Hull the chances of the hone still being there on my return were extremely slim and sure enough some odious miscreant or deranged mentalist had made off with my phone. The miscreant no doubt hoping to exchange it for cash and the mentalist hoping it was a Mars Bar.

I realise that this initial event was of my own doing and accept full culpability for the poor performance of my brain on this occasion. Since that time, however, my own stupidity has been far eclipsed by the obstinacy of your staff in their enforcement of your dimwitted policies. The phone in question was a (phone model deleted) which came free with the contract and bears a striking resemblance to a child's assemblage of Duplo bricks. When I enquired as to how much it would cost to replace this cutting edge technology I was told £200. £200 for a phone that Timmy Mallet would be ashamed to brandish is somewhat excessive. I was told after questioning this cost that I could get a "reconditioned" model for £70.

I assume a "reconditioned" model has been previously used then incorporated into DeathBeard's castle by the owner's children. I have about two months to go before my contract expires and until now have been happy with the cost and service I have received. I have asked for the number to be barred in case the aforementioned mentalist attempts to ring Addis Addaba and ask if they have any spare monkeys and this was done immediately.

My options therefore appear to be fourfold.

1) I pay you £200 for another Duplo brick phone or £70 for an ex-turret in DeathBeard's castle.

2) I carry on paying the monthly fee until January then tell you to insert your contract renewal into an orifice of your choice and give those lovely Vodafone people my money instead.

3) You allow me to contribute a sum of money towards a more 20th century model of phone that doesn't resemble a child's toy.

4) I give up on mobile phones altogether because text messages are costing me a fortune.

The best option for both parties I feel is number 3 so please can you see your way to being flexible and I'm sure we can reach a mutually acceptable solution.

unfortunately it seems the person who wrote this letter doesn't know how mobile phone contracts work. I really don't think I need to repeat it but I will anyway. You go to orange...want a phone on a monthly contract. They 'give' you a phone, but of course it's all worked into the contract you pay. The phone is normally worth around £200 so that's the cost to replace it if you lose/break it etc. (unless however you have insurance on your phone for accidental damage, theft and losing it). Insurance is between 2 and 5 quid per month normally although with most Orange contracts they now include insurance which is very comforting. Orange are quoting him £200 for a new handset which I would assume would be a new Nokia one....something like the 3310 or similar. He wouldn't be getting an exact replica of his old one because, as he said, it's now obsolete so getting a phone which "bears a striking resemblance to a child's assemblage of Duplo bricks" for £200 is incorrect. For the £70 he would get a reconditioned phone...I would imagine this to probably be a nokia 3210 or maybe even a 3310 but obviously reconditioned.
Does this sound correct to everyone or did he have insurance? If he did the phone would be on a 24hr replacement. I've had them out on a Sunday for a new phone...fantastic!

Yeah you have got it in one there i think. What sort of person leaves the phone on the top of the car anyway!!

Orange dont just "give away" the phones, you pay for it through the years contract, then it becomes yours.

PS. Vodafone arent up to much, unless you enjoy classical music while your on hold.

A couple of weeks ago, I was walking down a road in Ashford which has a playgroup further down the road. I saw one of these off-road vehicles drive towards me from the nursery and there was a bang and a clatter!!
The mother had driven off leaving her kid's lunchbox and jumper on the roof and obviously they had fallen off! I flagged her down and picked the items up for her and she explained that she put them on the roof whilst she was putting her child in the car, but the the mobile had rung. She answered the call on her mobile, and forgot to put the lunchbox and jumper in the car. At least it wasn't the phone!!

LOL! Ive also came across one lad who was shopping at Asda where i work and he had actually came inside and left the car door wide open!! How dumb can people get.
