Yeah, I'm working my way through this set again as well. I'd got the Region 1 set a few years ago - the UK one is better, for a starter the episodes are in order. The US set had them in the order in which they aired, whereas our's follows the production order.
I didn't know that

Yeah, NBC didn't air two episodes during the initial run of the show. By the time they got around to airing them they'd already aired the season finale which ended on a cliffhanger. They really should have put these back into the right order on the R1 DVDs as it's fairly obvious where they should have aired. Unfortunately they didn't, hence you get the finale All About Eve, and then both Natural Born Grendlers and Flower Girl come after it, which they shouldn't, as they make no sense coming after the season finale.

Thankfully, the Region 2 set, avoids such confusion by placing Natural Born Grendlers and Flower Girl back into the run as per the production order of the episodes.

Another little known fact - NBC were originally going to renew the show for a second season, albeit retooled. They fired Michael Duggan and Brought in Gil Grant - a number of changes to the show were drawn up - once NBC saw the changes they decided to cancel the show instead.

After that an Executive at UPN, who was a fan of the show, invited the producers to pitch the show to UPN - unfortunately too, they took one look at the changes and decided to pass.

Very unfortunate. Although once you see the proposed changes, you realize that it was probably for the best that we never got a second season.....

- Bring in a strong male leader named Isaiah Ford. Ford was supposed to be a Council leader who had lost his son in an accident, and comes to G889 to make a new life.
- Relegate Devon Adair to being the "passionate visionary". Isaiah Ford would usurp her leadership role. No mention of how Devon would get out of cold sleep was mentioned.
- John Danziger would develop more of an attitude than he already had. His "MacGuyver-like skills" with weapons would be emphasized.
- Morgan Martin and Yale would be killed off. No mention of how Yale was to be killed, other than "after Yale's tragic death...." Morgan would die in a "final act of cowardice," in a "botched escape attempt." John Gegenhuber was not informed that Morgan was being written out of the show.
- Bess Martin would become the romantic female role, hopping from tent to tent to "discover other earthly pleasures" once she was "freed of Morgan's domination".
- Julia Heller would get more high-tech medical gadgets to play with, but would be reduced to a passive "comforting presence". The two major female characters, Julia and Devon, were rewritten to be more emotional and less dominant.
- A new, teenaged cyborg - named Rom - would be introduced to take Yale's place. He would be a troublemaker, and lead True and Uly into all kinds of mischief. Shades of Wesley Crusher and Lucas Wolenczak...
- The Eden Advance group would adopt an orphaned Grendlier (sic), and make him a part of the group. Which left the fans to wonder if Bess was going to enjoy earthly pleasures with it, and what made it Grendlier than the average Grendler.
- The Terrians would probably be written out, as the new producers wanted to get rid of long story arcs and esoteric concepts.
- Alonzo Solace would discover that, when the planet healed him from his broken leg (sic), he also developed super-strength. Needless to say, the only actor at NP '96 who appreciated this was Jessica Steen, who thought of lots of intersting storylines for Julia and Alonzo's super-strength!
Sounds woeful, and a mere shadow of the show from season one.

Damn, that sounds like it would have been a hot mess, shades of Seaquest as it tumbled to oblivion Much as I love it, I'm glad it got cancelled.

Edited to add, thank you for the in-depth info

I am currently rewatching season 1 of Lost Girl. Season 2 has just finished on TV over here in England, so I am going to rewatch all of S1 and S2 while I wait for season 3 to start.

Still on Bones at the moment, but now on season 6. Will have to wait until October to order season 7 - so maybe then we can actually watch Fringe.

Not sure if you've seen it before, but stick with it. Season 2 onwards of 30 Rock is great but I found that the first season was a little clumsy and stale (even Tina Fey admits the pilot was a bit of a mess in her book). However, other people liked it from the start so even if you hate it try the second season.

Just finished finale of Season 6 of Dallas. Starting Season 7 today. I did watch this originally in between having a social life and hadn't realised how much humour and panto it had. Decided to watch it all again before the new Dallas starts this summer.

I'm about four episodes into Fringe and am enjoying it so far, though perhaps not quite as much as I thought I would.

I'm also rewatching Castle with my family (they haven't seen it before) and we're currently on the second season It took a lot of convincing to get my brother to watch it, but I saw him sneak upstairs with the boxset last night to watch ahead I do keep telling him that I have excellent taste in tv shows haha!

Fringe is pretty much a slow burner for the beginning of the first season. Stick with it, it has great payoff in the following seasons.

I agree with the previous poster, stick with Fringe you'll get to the really good stuff soon.

I'm currently re-watching a lot of stuff including: The Sopranos Season 1, 24 Season 8, and King Of The Hill (all 5 seasons that have been released here).

Misfits Series 1 and 2, and then moving on to Teachers Series 1-4 box set.

Well, until 16th July - then I can get my hands on Damages Season 4
