If im paying money out I want something to show for it.
I would never buy digitally as there is no point. I want a physical copy in my hand. Plus what happens when rights expire? You cant watch. So id rather just buy from a online shop & watch the dvds whenever I want. |

I've just finished Life Unexpected on Netflix. I had seen the odd episode when it was on TV, but good to watch it all in order. I am now going to watch American Horror Story Season 2, after really enjoying the first season

I would never buy digitally as there is no point. They may also be able to survive a change in format unlike my VHS and HD DVD collection! Still, it just feels safer having it tangible in your hand and you don't have to worry about internet access. |

Just playing devil's advocate here but I wouldn't say no point at all. It means you can watch it wherever you go, whenever you have access to the internet. You don't need a Blu Ray/DVD player to be available with the right Region coding. You could be at a friend's house and select any movie or TV episode out of your collection without having to travel around with them.

What do you do though once rights expire? How are you supposed to view it then?
Now if the company goes bust then that's another story. |

I wouldn't have though it applies. You've bought it. The company is just hosting your content.

Pretty sure some things do expire after a certain time. I heard some things from on demand services have been removed in the past.
Some things from On Demand services only last a week before it automatically deletes itself. Really annoying! |

I was really thinking more of the UV digital copy stuff or the stuff bought and downloaded from iTunes rather than on demand, as such.

I am watching Family Guy Season 7 and CSI Season 2 Part 2. I am looking forward to seeing the episode Cross Jurisdictions as that was the episode that introduced the cast of CSI Miami

Just finished the complete "Modern Family." (Well apart from the current season). Now to continue with the box set of "Dexter." Seasons one to five, done. Now for six, seven and eight.
I am addicted to everything Dexter. Does TV get any better? |

Dont asee the point in on demand boxsets. Id rather own the real thing.
I've just finished One Tree Hill on Netflix, and although I did enjoy the series, it's not something I would want to spent £60+ on. I'm now starting Devious Maids on demand to see what it's like.. If I become a big fan I'll buy the physical box sets.. If you even can?! I didn't even know it had a UK home. |

I don't see a problem in demand box sets. For me I prefer to own the physical box sets, but I have been taking advantage of the on demand box sets recently. If it's a show I'm a big fan of I will definitely buy the whole collection of box sets but if it's a new show or something I want to give a go, I'll watch on demand or netflix.

It depends on how much you want a series really.
Even when I have physical copies I always like to have digital versions on my NAS as well so I can watch whenever I want. It's easier to find a particular episode on my server than dig through a pile of DVD boxsets. The DVD then becomes the master copy in case my NAS has a catastrophic failure. |

I'd only want the physical copy if I really liked the series and watched it regularly. For most shows being able to stream from the internet it is good enough.

Ive never had a problem finding a dvd boxset because mine are on a bookcase all listed in alphabetical order. |

Caught up to Devious Maids, not sure why I didn't watch it last year as it's almost the same as Desperate Housewives in style and execution.
Currently got Suburgatory season 2 and Criminal Minds season 5 to finish |
