I think the producers have absolutely no idea what to do. They are clearly thinking that they are all about to be sacked, so are frantically pretending that this isn't a problem.

Endemol's response so far seems to be 'calm them down, then let them get on with it again to see how far they'll go next time'. While they've still got people in there who have been violent and have made the most serious of threats they are just asking for more. Then there's the concerns over the other HMs. Shell's reaction was one that gives deep cause for concern - has she been properly psychologically examined and is that possible in that environment?”

Well, it's difficult to identify who the main source of incompetance is on the anticipation and selection front, I still vote that the blame for that part of incompetance does fall to the team of psychologists.

The response seems to be to try and remove the catalyst factor, which is a mixture of both alcohol, a lack of communication between the factions, and a certain loud mouthed housemate called Emma. It's worth noting that Marco wasn't that bad when Emma was not present, so, her temporary exclusion from the house may well become permanent.

Shell's reaction has concerned me, but I do identical things too, particularly when I'm suffering from withdrawl (NOT from ciggerettes, I would add, but some prescription drugs that I take) and exposed to a shed load of stress or fights like that - felt quite sick as a result of seeing it, personally, but still found it fascinating albeit it not entertaining.

I believe she was removed for a short while with one of the psychology team, whether that's true or not I'm not sure, but that was a strong rumour and given that she was not present in any section of the house to begin with after the feed and security guards returned, I imagine it to be true.

I doubt that further violence will occur, providing the conditions are not reproduced, by that I mean no more surprise reintroductions, no more provocation of Marco to do stupid things, and so forth. It's worth noting, also, that Marco has never been exposed to things like that, so he may well have learnt a lot from that experience.

I think we may actually see an interesting change in characters from now, bear in mind that the two that we finger most of the violence on are also the two that were most 'hurt' by the return of the two housemates, as they felt they'd returned back to zero. The biggest mistake of this whole thing was the return of the two catalysts, without them, most of them didn't act up in such a way. I suspect that the main catalyst is Emma, and her removal from the show would quite possibly resolve the issue.

The moderators need to look into a few other programs, past and present before they start shoving their weight around.

So don't you have any thought for the psychologically unbalanced Emma locked away in the besit for her own protection, or the other HM's who seem to be very wary of their own personal safety incase things kick off again? These people may have gone in there voluntarily but they don't have full access to what is really going on and are really just led around like sheep. What about their families - do they need all this worry over whether their relative is going to remain safe while in there. What about if someone picks up a knife next argument and stabs another HM to death? Will that be ok? Hmm ? Just so that you get the excitement of watching the best TV in years on some reality show.

I think your comments show you up as the dullard. Go outside and get a life. Sheesh - what would you like C4 to screen next - live execution, via electric chair just so you can enjoy hearing the snap, crackle and pop via surround sound?

It's obvious that Endemol hoped for conflict in both the casting and the scenarios in this series. The fact that they hoped perhaps that it woud not go quite so far given the screening and monitoring that in theory should have taken place nor seemingly have contingency plans that were perhaps better capable for calming and resolving issues smacks of amateurism.

Most of the HM's with more or lesser degrees have major conflicts to an extent already within themselves and had last night not happened something like that was always on the cards.

BUT:

the real issue perhaps is that no matter what type of papering over the cracks with current round of 'let's resolve this', 'make up' time is going on...it won't end there

All HM's one way or another will not only see themselves but the behaviour of the others upon release and yes there's always going to be back biting in a scenario like BB but the extent of it here is far beyond most would call 'acceptable' and some might even argue 'sane'.. and it's on record for all involved for perpetuity.......that could easily result in problems exacerbated for some for quite some time.

A defining moment for 'reality TV' and TV in general perhaps.
