The 'preferred' Artists on DS - RESULTS.
I'm assuming a lot of you have seen my thread from a couple of days ago where i put the below artists against eachother to see who was more popular.
The most one-sided victory was James Morrison over James Blunt, the latter not getting into double figures, the only artist other than Professor Green to do so, who lost to Example. The Prodigy and Pendulum battled out to a draw, along with Rock legends Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Please bear in mind some people only voted for artists they felt were relevant, so not all matches have the same number of votes. Are there any surprises to you, what do you think? Below are the results! Round 2 coming soon. Dizzee Rascal 33 - 16 Tinie Tempah JLS 13 - 45 Take That Lady Gaga 44 - 13 Rihanna Pixie Lott 39 - 18 Diana Vickers Ellie Goulding 21 - 32 Marina & The Diamonds The Saturdays 16 - 38 Girls Aloud The Prodigy 28 - 28 Pendulum - TIE Jay Z 16 - 42 Eminem James Morrison 46 - 9 James Blunt Foo Fighters 27 - 27 RHCP - TIE Professor Green 9 - 42 Example The Killers 36 - 25 Kings of Leon Justin Timberlake 37 - 19 Usher Arctic Monkeys 27 - 25 Muse |

Also surprised at Marina comfortably beating Ellie. I prefer Marina but I didn't think she'd win over Ellie on here

But, then again, they are two bands that you just can't compare. They are too different. |

Biggest shock for me is JT beating Usher!
Usher has years and years of brilliant pop records, JT has 2 albums and a load of bit parts in songs! I though Diana Vickers/Pixie Lott would have ended with Pixie winning, but not by so much |

I'm surprised Take That beat JLS by so much (I can't stand JLS but thought they would have got a few more votes) and Justin Timberlake beating Usher is a bit surprising too

Really? KOL's last album was shit, whereas The Killers are always very consistent, try something new with each album and always put the effort in.
But, then again, they are two bands that you just can't compare. They are too different. As you say though two quite different bands. |

Only By The Night and Hot Fuss are two of my favourite albums of all time so it was hard to seperate them.

KOL's last album may not have been their best, but it was a helluva lot better than The Killers last album. The Killers have been slowly declining since Hot Fuss.
But Kings Of Leon just really went out of their way to go mainstream. Don't get me wrong, there were a few good songs on the album, but it left a very unsavoury taste in my mouth afterwards. And Kings Of Leon never experiment or change it up. But I suppose I can't blame them. Stick to a winning formula and you can't go wrong. The Killers take risks with their music. Kings Of Leon don't. But they really are too different to compare. It's like comparing water to milkshake. |
