i am not sure if the word "stop acting like a black man" can be termed racist. But as he is not white, is he suppose to act white? Or was there an hidden message in is face being painted white. If he was any other colour but black, then maybe we could all understand. BUt as he is black i find it very offensive. The lot climbing on the racism bandwagon may have a case. Except someone can tell me the statement means otherwise, i think i will more inclined to say the statement is racist

what does "act white" or "act black" mean?

i think emma meant for him to stop acting like a BBoy wannabe, but was as tactful and media savvy as always.

The people claming this is racist are just blowing it out of all proportion to get ammo to attack Emma with.

There is no way on earth that any sane person could read that as racist.
She didn't say anything bad about black people, she didn't say he was a ****** because he was black, she just said that he was black. It's no different to saying a person with big ears has big ears, or someone with blonde hair is blonde.

Emma meant to say "acting like some sort of black ganster". END OF.

The limp wristed, tree hugging, yogurt knitting morons accusing her of being a rascist are just as bad as a rascist IMHO.

Shame on you.

That's the problem when you lose your temper. I suspect that at some time in the past she may have had problems with black men who have not treated her very well, but I'm just guessing really

Not at all like you blow things out of proportion to get ammo to attack victor then ?

So she just said he was black ?

Was she making a public service announcement?

Did she think no-one else had noticed Victor was black, and was just bringing them up to speed regarding his skin colour ?

Why exactly did she feel the need to mention his skin colour?

Maybe, previously, she just thought he was well tanned ?

Get real mr_ray

Get real mr_ray”

Yes, she did. Unless you can show how that was in any way a racial slur, it wasn't. Don't go assigning malicious racist intent to Emma unless you have proof.

So she might have meant it as a compliment? Interestingly unknowable... indeed her detractors might not even have considered that. nd

But you can not get in her head so you can not say what you think she meant. we can only go by facts and the fact is she said black guy not gangsta.

You just said it yourself - it's not a racist statement, so how could it possibly be an assault on his colour? He's supposed to act however he wants to act.

I hate to get involved in what appears to be a rather turgid thread, however ...

.. the fact emma said "stop acting like a black man" implies that stereotypical black men behave in a certain way - a generalised comment which can only be viewed as based on ignorance and discriminatory views.

The proof is in the response.

PS Before last night, emma was my favourite - no more though

Emma meant the "gansta" type of attitude - which victor stinks of anyway!

If anyone out to the two is racist it is Victor, for his reason nominating Vanessa but as usual people discriminate against themselves!

I think Victor should be thrown out on his arse. He poured the wine over Emma, he offended her calling her thick.... what else is she supposed to do?!

Spot on. Any rational person should be able to deduce from what she said that she was being derogatory towards him. The fact she chose to make colour the issue tells its own story.

because, for the millionth time, Victor has been portraying himself as the stereotypical black - yes black - with attitude, gangsta, from da hood, know what i mean, innnit?

i mean he has, hasn't he? i haven't been imagining it?

her beef with Victor isn't that he *is black*, her beef with Victor is that he's portraying himself in this stereotype.

see the difference yet?

If emma meant that then she should have said it, you really do not know what she thought.

And you stop playing the do-gooder?

He was acting your typical gansta black man you see in films.... you can even see this attitude in his official big brother picture... all you'd need is for him to say "keepin' it real man" and that's the whole stereotype complete!

He attacked her with wine, he offended her firstly saying she was thick, and he was racist towards Vanessa when nominating her.

And before you want to nit-pick any more.... in what way was he NOT acting like a civilised man, rather than some sort of prehistoric neanterthal.

I bet there is black men around the country ashamed that he is representing them, in the same way I am ashamed of the way Jason is acting being Scottish an all that.
