her beef with Victor isn't that he *is black*, her beef with Victor is that he's portraying himself in this stereotype.

see the difference yet?

But she still did not say it though did she, she said black guy and do you really know what she is thinking.

No I think if she wanted to be diliberately racist then she would have let rip.

When you are arguing with someone you just let rip anyway - you don't think what your saying and even say stuff that will try to hurt them.

I'm sure if he was fat, she would have commented on that........

That's the point that so many don't seem to get. Victor can raise his fists in anger and they see that as acceptable, or even laudable.
If Emma uses one particular word in a barrage or words intended to annoy or provoke Victor though, she's racist. As you say, it'd be whatever word would get to him - stupid, fat, bald, four-eyes, depending on the person. We all do that.

do you agree that there is such a thing as *black gangsta* stereotype? yes?

do you agree that Victor has been playing up that stereotype? all the Vic the Slick stuff? yes?

do you agree that Emma, or indeed anyone, might get fed up with it? yes?

so it wouldn't be that absurd for emma, given that she's not that bright, or in a heated moment, or both, to tell him to quit with the whole routine? even if she uses the word black, it doesn't make her racist, because, despite how you might try to convince yourself otherwise, that stereotype *is* a black stereotype.

so - emma it seems is pissed of with victor for behaving true to this stereotype, not pissed of with him for being black.

is this making the slightest bit of sense yet?

casual racism, very few people are immune from it, especially when in an emotional situation

I think so as well. I thought I was the lone voice, or the only coherent person on this forum.

i think given the circumstances, what we know about her, what we know about victor, and what we know about their relationship, i'd say it was a reasonable conclusion.

certainly reasonable enough to give her the benefit of the doubt, and certainly insufficient to conclude that she's a racist.

yes i agree with you totally. if marco seems to be reading from the buffer's guide to being gay victor seems to be using the black man edition.

i love the way you can tear coherant sensible points apart, almost without trying mes.

they're not *excuses* mes - its a perfectly coherant line of reasoning. which bits didn't you follow?

are you just going to do your usual thing of simply repeating *emma is a racist* ad infinitum, until you've said it enough times, and magically *proved* it?
