I'm on board with that

I'd vote for that.

And marry their offspring.

Judging from the first track I've heard he's going to need it.”

Would be a strange reason to do it as the money he got for the Libertines gigs would be far more than he'll earn from an album.

No, I didn't say he did it for financial reasons. I don't think Carl is that materialistic. But to go from the DPTs flop second album to a flop play, then a flop solo album would probably have finished off his credibility. Doing The Libertines gigs is a great way to remind people how good he can be.

Apart from the actual kisses and hugs on stage Pete and Carl had a surprising lack of chemistry on stage last week, and it makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes. I think Pete is more invested than Carl is - Carl spent more time at Leeds looking at his friends at the side of the stage than at the crowd. I suspect The Libertines is Carls fall-back option if his solo stuff doesn't work out (though I hope I'm wrong). It's a bit ominous that no further plans seem to have been made.

Hello. I hope I haven't killed this thread with my comments Maybe I would be better suited to a Babyshambles AT!

I do appreciate that Carl is a crucial part of The Libertines and I love his voice, so I hope it doesn't look like I am a hater. I hope we get another album from them, I feel they have a lot more to give as a creative unit.

Wasn't overly impressed with Carl's solo effort on first listen, but it really has grown on me. There are a couple of standout tracks and it's quite different from anything Libs/Shambles/DPT.

I saw him at his show in The Scala last night and oh my god. He was simply brilliant. He played more or less everything on his solo album, throwing in a decent helping of Libs songs and a couplf of DPT tracks. And he looked divine

Even my straight male friend wanted to have sex with him by the encore
