Girls Aloud: Call the Shots

I used to think Nadine was saying "put your face on the bed and call the shots now"

It's more like "raising the bets and call the shots now"

Diana Vickers was on XFactor performing one of her own songs, having allegedly ripped the chorus off the RHCP and someone put subtitles to it on youtube, its funny

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnOsAI_XuLs

Maybe instead of ripped off I should say they sound similar.

Leona Lewis' song "Don't Let Me Down" - the opening line sounds a lot like "f**king around"...when I first heard it I was shocked. But it's actually "Fork in the road"...

I thought she was saying 'my lovers got no money, he's got his trombelise' which I thought maybe some kind of trombone :P

Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes, I always thought that ''She knows just what it takes to make a pro blush'' was ''a crow blush''

Listening to Mylo's In My Arms, and I don't know why, I keep thinking they're saying "in my a*** baby yeah" instead of "in my arms baby yeah"

"Clutches at my breast" is the correct lyric.

In Kylie's 'Cupid Boy' I thought it was "Take a rocket to mars, straight through to your heart, every time we touch i'm shooting my stuff". It's really "im shooting the stars"

Song by the Sugababes called Shape there's a line that goes 'Second after second, day by day'.

I grew up in an Irish house so I heard 'Second after second, tae pot tae' ('tae' is tea in Irish, pronounce 'tay').

When I went to Uni, I got embarrassed once and never sang it again

I thought the same except I thought he sang "Just you and me, and the goats, in the bathroom"

My friend Meabh thought 'Maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me' from Wonderwall was 'Meabhy, you're gonna be the one that saves me' when she was younger

I always thought 'groupies' was 'boobies' in 'When I Grow Up'

Makes total sense! I must have had bad hearing 9 years ago or something, ha.

Me too. It took a lot of playing that line over to believe that it was in fact "groupies". It's sung more like "groobies".

Is Ken Lee the worst case of "misheard" lyrics (I completely understand English may not be the singers first language).

[quote=Goosebee;55878224]Cant quite believe these two are not on here yet...firstly the saturday's "issues" I used to think it said: "Don't know if i should stab you or kiss you!"- It's actually slap.QUOTE]

Indeed, as it sounded so much like "...stab..." this is why the lyric was re-recorded for the single as "...leave you or kiss you".

One I discovered courtesy of Sara from Pure Radio is on Alexander O'Neal's Criticise. She thought "Don't criticise my ideals" sounded like "Don't criticise my high heals"!

Noisettes Don't Upset The Rhythm: in the first line of the chorus, I hear 'Don't Accept The Rimming'

You are not the only one to mishear this lyric!

I saw a TV programme where they played "When the Going gets Tough" as a piece of background music. The following week they played the outro of the song again (it has a fade out with "Going gets tough, going gets tough, going gets to-ough..." ) accompanied by reading out a letter of complaint from a viewer: "Last week you played a song which contained the lines 'Go and get stuffed', I was DISGUSTED!"

I also read about someone who thought Madonna's "La Isla Bonita", which has the line "I fell in love with San Pedro" was actually "I fell in love with some Dago"

Another line from that same song - "And when the samba played" always sounds to me like "And when Osama played". When Bin Laden was in the news, you can imagine how surprised I was.

I too misheard the Shania Twain lyric as "I can't believe you kiss your c0ck at night" - I had to find a copy of the album and look at the lyrics inside the sleeve to assure myself I was mishearing it!

Just remembered another one - in Professional Widow by Tori Amos, I always mishear the line "It's got to be big" as "he's got a big d**k"!

Especially funny when you consider what the other line in the song is!
