Nelly Furtado - Play

What I heard: "I got no plan in my antenna, Berry"
Real lyrics: "I've got no plan on my itinerary"

Lol.

Jessie J - Domino
What I thought it was: "Daddy dancing in the moonlight"
What it actually was: "Dirty dancing in the moonlight"

Domino
"Netflix streams the best I've ever known"
What it actually was "Make this dream the best I've ever known"

Sia - Wild Ones
What I thought it was: "I often took your home and be a home run"
Real lyrics: "If I took you home it'd be a home run"

The whispered talky bit in 10cc's I'm Not In Love:
Misheard: "Be Quiet, Be Quest And Quiet"
Actual: "Be Quiet, Big Boys Don't Cry"!

I've thought of another. Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing.

Misheard line: You think that I should lost your love with liver salts that can't persuade(!?!)
Actual line: You think that I could muster up a little soft shoe gentle sway!

In fact other lines in this song and their other songs have very indecipherable lyrics!

In Tulisa's new song she says "let me grab my feelings from the floor" but I thought it was "me grandma felix on the floor".

These posts are hilarious
Here are some gems I remember:

Big Yellow Taxi - I don't know what version it is but it's definitely a man singing and it really does sound like this:

Actual: they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot
Misheard: they paved paradise, and put up a f*cking lot
Another is, which I used to think it was: it ain't paradise, to put up a parking lot. Too true and well said

Freed from desire - someone has already said this but oh my god I thought she said 'trumbelis' right up to this day, not strong beliefs :O haha

Dynamite - thought Taio Cruz was saying 'galileco'

Starships - when my mum heard this she thought Nicki Minaj was saying this
Actual - and if you're a cheat, you're a cheat, cheat, cheat
Misheard - and if you're a tree, you're a tree, tree, tree

I thought it was if you're a gee, you're a gee, gee, gee till I looked up the lyrics, but my mum's one's better and as she said it's Nicki Minaj so that was probably what she was singing

Here's some more:

Paradise - if you listen carefully to this coldplay song, it sounds like they're singing 'paradox', instead of 'paradise'

Firestarter - the prodigy song
Actual: I'm the troublestarter,punkin' instigator
Misheard: I'm the troublestarter, f*ckin' instigator - I always wondered why they didn't block it out on tv or radio

Wiley - Heatwave

The proper lyrics 'Causing a Heatwave'
What I think it sounds like 'Balls in a Kiwi'

It's a case trying to fit too many words into one line. There's another example further up the thread, where several posters discuss 'Freed from Desire' (Gala?). This contains the line 'My love has got no money, he's got his strong beliefs'.

If she'd sung 'My Love's got no money; he's got strong beliefs', we could have understood, but in trying to cram too many words into one line, Gala just left everyone wondering what this "trombelise" instrument was that her boyfriend had got hold of!
I always thought the words were: "My love's got no money, he's got a strong release"!!!

I thought he was saying "balls in a heatwave", I never sang it along with him though coz I thought "that can't be right..."

Happens in the Dark - Jedward.
They sing 'Feel my pulse, yeah beating so hard'.
When I first heard it I thought they were singing 'Feel my balls, yeah beating to hard'... Well, I had had a glass of wine or two....

Big Yellow Taxi
Misheard: they paved paradise, and put up a f*cking lot
That's what I thought was being sung when I heard it on the radio once. I couldn't believe that the radio would play that!

Starships - when my mum heard this she thought Nicki Minaj was saying this
Actual - and if you're a cheat, you're a cheat, cheat, cheat
Misheard - and if you're a tree, you're a tree, tree, tree

I thought it was if you're a gee, you're a gee, gee, gee
Searching online suggests that it is in fact "G,G,G" as in gangsta. I also used to think that it was "tree"!

On "its my thing' by EPMD, Erick Sermon says the line
'the mind is weary floatin' like a dove/ sweatin' a thing like if you was makin' love' and because of his slurry mumble mouth speech impediment it sounds just like hes saying 'like a jew makin' love'

In Leona Lewis's Glassheart I thought she said "F*ck him like a china doll", it was actually "Broken like a china doll"

Another:

Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger

I heard:
Where nobody knows / If it's not our day

It is infact:
Where nobody knows / If it's night or day
Then I've been hearing that one wrong as well!

I've mentioned this before on another misheard lyrics thread, but in RHCP's Scar Tissue I hear "without a shed it's a lovely view" instead of "with the birds I'll share this lonely view" even though I know I am wrong

Pink - Just Like A Pill.

I always seem to hear "To the middle of my factory fears"
When in fact it's "To the middle of my frustrated fears"

The Flaming Lips' "What is the Light?" I heard

"Climbing all around you" instead of the the actual "Shining all around you".

Of course, the song is about LSD, so that make make "light start climbing"...

Prefab Sprout- King of Rock n Roll

Is actually "Hot dog jumping frog albuquerque"
Misheard as "Hot dog jumping frog have a cookie"
Interestingly, the band name "Prefab Sprout" was itself inspired by a misheard lyric.

The 1967 song "Jackson" by Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra contains a reference to a "pepper sprout", which was misheard as "prefab sprout", and hence the band name.

I used to hear Hall and Oates as 'Fallen Oats'!
Likewise Skunk Anansie I thought was 'Skunk and Nancy'!
