On Perfect Day Lou Reed sings "Oh what a perfect day, I'm glad I spend it with you". However, on the Children in Need cover version the lyric sounds like "I'm glad I finished with you"!

My father owned the Dire Straits album "Brothers in Arms" and played it to death when
I was a child. One of the tracks, "The Man's Too Strong" , I misheard as
"Now they say I am a white criminal" (it's actually "war criminal").
So I thought "The man in that song must have fought for the South in the
American Civil War, since most of those soldiers didn't like black people and
would have thought most criminals were black. Hence they'd call the
guy in the song "a white criminal"."
Upon hearing All Fired Up by The Saturdays, my mum used to sing along "Oompa loompa, puppy love".
With my sometimes odd hearing, I earlier heard the line "you look like bad news" in 22 by Taylor Swift as "You look like Batman". I much prefer my version!
lol, we had this same thread over on General Discussion and I posted JoJo, 'Too Little Too Late'.
It was in the context of José Mourinho when he was first manager of Chelsea, and constantly in the news, and all I could hear in this song was the line "José, you tread on my face"...
I heard Jamiroquai's hit 'Little L' earlier and it reminded me that I used to think that Jay Kay was singing "you make me love you[...]with a little lell'. What 'lell' could have meant, I don't know!
Similarly, I used to think their song 'Canned Heat' was called 'Candy' and the misheard line about "candy in my heels" meant maybe he had popping candy in his shoes, which was making his feet move!
In Culture Club's biggest hit, I used to think Boy George was singing:
"Come-a, come-a, come-a, come-a, come-a to me, Leanne"
It wasn't until I one day saw the song title written down that I knew what it really was! I even heard people request it on the radio a few times and thought they were asking for 'Come To Me Leanne'.

Why she would suddenly sing that in an anxious way halfway through the song really did baffle me.”

Actually, they were heavily peppered with words that were simply invented for their sound value, but that didn't stop Japanese translators trying to put them on album sleeves.
