M.I.A.'s album covers, although not visually appealing to most people, are representative if anything. For example, her most recent album is heavily influenced by internet culture, hence the front cover, and even the name /\/\/\Y/\, reflects this. Kala is heavily influenced by Africa hence the front cover is also influenced by African art. Finally, Arular is pretty much a political album and her artwork there was inspired by Tamil street art and violence (hence the tanks and guns).
Anyway, back onto the topic in hand.
I think U2 - No Line On The Horizon is very unimaginative and the photo used was used on someone else;s album prior to U2s.
Hard Fi - Both of their album covers. They were trying to be "cool" as if to suggest it's the content and not the cover which matters. Although true, it's a shame the content was equally as bad.
Razorlight - Razorlight - How many album covers look like this?!
