I accidentally deleted a purchased video, didn't have back up, thought I'd have to purchase again like it says. Anyway, sent a begging email to Apple iTunes Help to request a regrant, & they have granted it!

So for anyone who accidentally lose their music & videos, don't worry just ask Apple they are very helpful people!

Yes they are good with these types of things. However I personally think that they should let you re-download anything that you have previously purchased for free, just like they do with apps.

Alternatively, the OP could just have gone into iTunes and under the "Store" menu, selected "Check for available downloads", which will download all non-app purchases for the associated iTunes account to the computer (apps can also be redownloaded for free, but you need to do those individually, and you need to check that you have bought that app as redownloading it consists of buying it again, and you'll only be told after doing so that as you've already bought it, it is free to get it again).

Nothing magical happening here, it is just allowing you access to content you have already paid for. You're not paying on iTunes to download anything, you pay for the right to use it. The downloading of it is simply something which has to be done to allow you to use it, therefore there is no problem with allowing you to download it again.

^ but for video and music content you cannot automatically re-download for free. You will be charged again unless you contact iTunes.

The obvious answer would be to contact iTunes. Easy peasy.
