Pity For The Sugababes...
I honestly do believe the girls were slowly rising in 2005.
"Push The Button" & "Ugly" are brilliant. Sad Mutya left, what are your opinions? |

My opinion is that no matter who sings in the Sugababes they always deliver with catchy fun pop

Ace Reject was amazing too, I can't believe it wasn't a single. And I agree, 2.0 were the ultimate line-up. But I think they've got some amazing post-Mutya songs too, especially Denial, Never Gonna Dance Again, My Love Is Pink, Every Heart Broken, Thank You For The Heartbreak, Crash & Burn, No More You, Unbreakable Heart, Little Miss Perfect and Can We Call A Truce.
I'm just glad the Sugababes are still around, it would be a bit depressing if The Saturdays were the only big UK girl group. |

I think it's embarassing and sad that they let personal pettiness get in the way of their art, to be honest.

They were probably the best girl band around in the early part of the decade, and the Gary Numan sample was a genuinely very good pop song.
But the constant line up change led to them becoming a franchise rather than a band and frankly a bit of a joke. Which is a shame. I Always think it was a shame the ginger one from the original line up left. She was a little bit different from the standard girl band member and seemed to be replaced by default girl band clone number 3456. I think they are a bit of an irrelevance in 2010. Like Bananarama still being talked about in 1995. |

The second line up was the best because Keisha and Mutya were stars, while Heidi was pretty an dwas there to make 3 point harmonies.
But overall, I think their best album was Catfights & Spotlights which was one of the 3.0 albums, even if ti would've been better with Mutya. |

I was watching the music video for Run For Cover last night and I'm still taken aback by how gritty and real that video and song is, especially since the girls were so young back then.
I'll always follow the Sugababes in whatever form they exist because I think the music will always be good, but they'll never have what version 1.0 and 2.0 had, which was that gritty realism which set them apart from everyone else in music at the time. |

2.0 was by far the best line up and Freak Like Me & Round Round were great pop songs. Once Mutya left, I felt they lost that raw edge that put them a cut above their peers and became just another girl group (albeit one who've still had some good songs since). I'm happy they're still around though as the alternative is the Saturdays

It's unfortunate people forget the gritty realism they seem to love was manufactured. It's not like Mutya didn't do her share of selling out - Push The Button and In The Middle were about as gritty as an episode of Teletubbies.

I wouldn't say they were slowly rising
Angels, Three and Taller were three big era in their career. Three successful era's in a row. But yeah it began to decline when Mutya left but the change era is one of my favs. Push the button is without a doubt one of the best pop songs to have ever came out of a girlband and to have actually sold well and top the chart for some time. I remember at that time they thrashed robbie to the top spot |

I've been into Sugababes since Overload, and absolutely LOVED Three, i must of played that over and over for like 8 months, the Taller In More Ways came out and i liked that but when Mutya left, i couldnt really stay with them as i couldn't warm to her voice, i bought Catfights and Spotlights hoping i'd like her, but couldn't, i liked Can We Call A Truce and Sunday Rain best on that album, never bought Change and then Keisha went and i that was like it, but would still listen to thier albums, i wouldnt automatically say they're now crap, i love She's A Mess and No More You (if i twas slowed down a bit more) can't wait to see what they do next but not as a fan...

I think they were one of the lesser manufactured groups out there, until Catfights and Spotlights. |

I'm still as big of of the girls, but i'm aware that they aren't quite the band they used to be.
I never really liked Mutya as a person (came across as a right miserable cow) but her departure did leave a gaping hole in the band. Amelle has never really sat well with me. I was gutted with Keisha left but i honestly think Jade is a fantastic replacement. I can't wait to hear what they release next. To me Heidi is as big a part of the group as Mutya and Keisha. Until she leaves I see no reason why the Sugababes should be called anything else. Angels With Dirty Faces and Three were definately their golden years. I'm been listening to AWDF quite a bit recently - Virgin Sexy is definately one of their best hidden gems

Heidi is the weak link in sugababes. She can't sing at all. But every girlband has that one that can't sing anyway. However i do respect her as she was responsible for writing Denial.

Not even a Keisha fan, but they were slowly getting by when Mutya left. Then Keisha was the final nail in the coffin.

If there was nothing genuine about their gritty image, how come it all but disappeared with Mutya and, especially, Keisha?
And Catfights wasn't selling out at all. Boring, yes. Selling out, no. |

Keisha has been quoted as saying she's been on good terms with Mutya and Siobhan and they've been chatting. She wouldn't rule out a reform.

It would good to see them record a song and release it at the same time as the current Sugbabes next single.

the originals would name themselves the sugababes as they named the group the imposters have no right calling themselve that
