Im looking at getting one of the above two machines. Can anyone who as used these machines recommend which is better, more reliable and quieter? Im not too fussed about the hd side of it, just looking for a good quality recorder. Im presuming both of these have improved since over air upgrades.

Hello SlipperyEel. If you are not that fussed about HD on Freeview then I would go for Humax 9300T.

I was also not too bothered about HD on Freeview because Freeview+ HD PVR's are too expensive and there is not that many HD channels broadcasting on Freeview.

Also most of the Freeview HD PVR's have so many issues with their software so all this has put me off Freeview+ HD PVR's.

I do like the sound of the new Humax hdfox pvr but way too expensive at the moment, altho early testing from people who have the box claim its pretty awesome and bug free. But is it really worth another £150 more than the 9300!
