Why are there so few British professionals in this show ?

Because there are none! The dance world is dominated by foreign competitors, we have very few British dancers of a high standard.

The majority (all?) of pros on strictly are no longer involved in serious competition though, and some of those now on the show didn't do brilliantly anyway. I don't think the current state of the UK ballroom dance world (which isn't good, I agree) should actually impact the choice of pros on Strictly.
