Humax remote operation
I have been having problems with my humax , it seems very slow to respond to commands from the remote .
The hard disk is almost empty and it not only happens when loading the epg as expected but in normal operation, anyone else?.

The remote is clunky, I seem to have problems with the 'enter ' button not always working and with slow response at times aswell.
There is a protective film covering the outside and inside of the window on the front of the box, removing both of these helps with functionality |

Hi icutedave,
This sounds familiar! This URL is one I started when I thought that cleaning the remote would help. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...1234334&page=2 May I suggest that you read post 33 to see how to open it, then consider post 45 onwards to hear how CPN improved it by changing the IR emitter. Post 66 indicates a better way of mounting the new emitter. Others have agreed that a big improvement ensued, though sadly my remote suffered "OK button" paralysis, so was beyond redemption, & I changed to a new multipurpose Harmony 300 remote. I wish that I had done so sooner. Harmony 300 by Logitec on Amazon slightly < £40 a touch cheaper than a new Humax remote & much better apart from controlling 3 other devices. Volume control works well on one controller & my Panasonic switches on at HDMI1 to work with the Humax HDR at start up. The Harmony 300 only controls 4 devices so if you have more bits of kit consider a Harmony above this "entry level" remote. Hope this helps. David |

David I can see the remote is sending the signals but the humax does not respond instantly , sometimes it takes a couple of seconds , I think its the the humax itself that is not responding as it should do .

That is almost a design icon, it looks & feels good while working promptly. It does what it says on the button you pressed. Be very aware that I am NOT a fan of Sky !!! I chose my pen name to reflect my view of Sky. Humax seemed to have introduced extra functionality into the HDR, compared to Sky+ but lost some of some of the quick responsiveness. II don't think that any updates will cure this. Perhaps they will improve on this in the HDR Mark 2. Meanwhile enjoy the subs. money that you saving. David |

Delay on RM-F04 remote control
Just purchased a new remote off eBay after failure of old one, and while all functions work, there is a delay of a few seconds - the led on the PVR button flashes 5 times - before anything happens or another button will operate. This means when scrolling through menus, it takes a long time to achieve the desired result. (I don't use the other options - TV/DVD/Radio but the same thing happens). Is there a quick cure?
