Hi

I brought a Motorola V525 on Vodafone PAYG from The Carphonewarehouse 2 months ago

the phone has developed a fault whereas the internal screen flickers uncontrollably...however when purchasing the phone I said 'no' when the assistant asked me if I wanted any insurance

i'm confused whether or not I have a manufacturers guarantee, or can I buy insurance from the carphonewarehouse and then claim on that?

cheers

it should be covered under the phones warranty, but cpw or motorola may try to claim you broke it. virtually if not all phones have a 12 month guarantee, check the phone manual for details of it

If it's broke, and not damaged through misuse (and you still have proof of purchase of course!), take it back - they have an obligation to CHANGE it for you. Don't be put off with 'we'll send it off to the service centre for you' - that's just a cop-out by them,. Make sure you get a new one and let us know the result.....

I was with The CPW Insurance and I thought it was pretty poor. They sent my phone off and gave me this poxy Trium phone which seemed to be about 5 years out of date. (It still had a retractable aerial). It took about 4 weeks to repair mine...

Hi all thanks for the help.

I went in today and the CPW didn't have any more V525's in stock (what a surprise) so mines been sent off for repair. Meanwhile i've been given a Nokia 1100 as a standby phone (which I had to pay a 40 quid deposit for, 35 of which I get back when my V525 comes back)

Just seems to me that its pretty good coinsedence that there were no more V525's in stock...the assistant didn't even check

Oh well never mind!
