A week today will be the ninth anniversary since her death in a plane crash after completing the music video for "Rock the Boat"

I love most of her stuff but "Try Again" has to be the best imo that song is just amazing and never gets old.

I don't really know many of her songs but I love More Than A Woman. I was thinking about Aaliyah the other day funnily enough. I wonder what would have happened to her if she hadn't died, whether she's still be around on the music scene today or not?

Her die hard fans think she'd be the artist Beyonce is today.

Who knows though

Loads of her songs were great but rock the boat did stand out

She defo would still be in the charts today if she was still alive

Still very tragic about her death. So sad I hope she gets back into the charts to remember her death.

I think her and Timbaland would still be great today if she were still alive.

My favourites are:

More than a woman
Try again
Journey to the past
The one I gave my heart to
Are you that somebody

All of these for me are excellent!!

What most likely wouldn't have happened would have been her getting a UK #1 with "More Than A Woman". I'm not denying she was talented though.

I was an Aaliyah fan all through the 90s. She is one of the only R&B acts who I still own albums of (her, TLC and Lauryn Hill).

Anyway, my 3 favourites of hers are Got To Give It Up, which is actually a cover with bits added, If Your Girl Only Knew, and What If.

I think the album Aaliyah was ahead of other R&B albums at the time, too. It was a bit rocky in places, too.

I can't believe she died over 9 years ago !

A lot of acts these days want to be everything she was, sadly. They will never match up to her.

Try Again is my favourite song of hers. Imho she was also really good in Romeo Must Die as well.

Ahhh, I love Aaliyah!

So hard to choose but probably "We Need A Resolution", what a classic song.

Favourite video? "Try Again" - always loved the dance routine.

Theres just so many to choose from

I still think More than a woman sounds as fresh and 'today sounding' in 2010 as it did in 2001

Personally ive always thought if Aaliyah was alive today the likes of Rihanna, ciara, Cassie, Shontelle et al wouldnt of even been on the radar.
