I might be going, my cousin and his girlfriend have tickets but they are unsure if they are going or not now, if they don't I'll be there. Never been before, pretty excited, hope it's as good as T In The Park

My 6th year out of 7.

Excited as ever. Particularly looking forward to seeing 3 bands I never thought would play together again (Blink-182, Libertines and Limp Bizkit) as well as some old favorites (Lostprophets, Dizzee Rascal, Gaslight Anthem)

I'm going!

I'm so underprepared though. My friend just text me asking what camp site I was on. I didn't even know they had names, or that there were more than one!

I'm really looking forward to it, but I am ever so slightly scared about not being able to shower, poo, shave, or sleep properly for five days. I do quite like my luxury.

I have no idea which bands I'm seeing, but the lineup looks awesome.

Yes I am going, this is my 10th consecutive year (first went in 2000) starting to feel a bit old amongst u young uns Was first hounded into going in 1995 and 1996 however I didn't go (what a muppet I am!) I am so old that I have memories of the proper hard core rockers hanging around the town and punks at the Reading festival 1983 when the capacity was only 15,000 (I was obviously to young to have gone myself at that time)

BTW if anyone wants to go and needs a ticket, or knows someone who needs one, I have an ethically priced ticket available.

I do wish that Festival Republic would offer VIP packages much like all other major festivals now seem to do, so that punters can pay a bit extra for a more comfortable festival experience. Rather than keep the VIP area out the back for media luvvies (who are so arrogant who can't see the sun shine as their heads are stuck so far up their backsides) and their various hangers on.

Do they still let you throw bottles of piss at the Reading Festival?
I've not been since 1987.

i might show up at the leeds leg..got vip if i want to make the effort.

that said, i've been going since it was the original V festival (1997 i think??) and with me getting older, each year that comes, i've heard of less and less of the acts on the line-up. this year is defintely the most disappointing line up for me anyway. wouldn't mind seeing cypress hill but thats about it.

and then do i really wanna see GnR? - saw them 2002 and it was the greatest gig ever, they did everything you would want them to do, not sure they can top it, and i don't really want to hear the new stuff

oh and the weather is looking like itll be a complete wash out. sod it. i'm staying in.

Hi, I just put together a little itinerary of what bands i am going to see (if all works out)

FRIDAY: Two Door Cinema Club - Lost Prophets - Biffy Clyro - QOTSA - Guns N Roses

SATURDAY: Futureheads - Mystery Jets - 3OH!3 - Hadouken! - Darwin Deez - Dizzee Rascal - Libertines - Pendulum

SUNDAY: Russell Kane - Youmeatsix - The Drums - Kele - Weezer - Paramore - Blink 182

I find Friday a bit of drag until late afternoon but am pleased with Saturdays line-up and Sunday evening i love.

It is means to rain all weekend with flash floods on Sunday night :/ haha

The Futureheads are a really good live act. Though I am extremely jealous of you going to see Pendulum.

What? So you need to show ID upon entry if you have a Reading or Leeds VIP ticket? So these people selling Reading and Leeds VIP tickets on ebay are basically trying to sell you a duff ticket?

I can only speak for people in my area (where the event is occurring).. last year i had to produce ID, like a recent utility bill in my name and address. I didn't have it, and they wouldn't let me in until i went home to get it.. It all felt rather over the top.

I suppose as with anything eBay, you just need to get a feel for the seller as to whether or not you think its bona fide.

They should change the name of the festival.

Sounds like a book fair.

I know that happens for the limited number of tickets sold to local residents, however I was not aware tha ID was required for VIP tickets. All these people buying off ebay will be in for a shock to find out their super dooper VIP ticket is useless.

Not sure tbh.. and i suppose even if the seller is bonafide, they may not even know themselves unless its made clear on the ticket?

I'm going. Only going really for The Libertines, but massively looking forward to Arcade Fire too.

Will probably be my last R&L, unless something like The Libertines happens again. I went to Reading last year and really enjoyed it, but I went to Glasto for the first time this year and it's just on a whole other level.

You don't need ID for the VIP tickets, unless you are on a list in which case you will. My ticket has the name of the company the VIP ticket was allocated to

Reading resident tickets you'll need to take ID as it's a condition of sale that ID is provided

I only live a 10 mins away from the site. Really looking forward to another festival - this will be my 11th festival since 1991 Hoping the rain goes away

Next question how can you legally get a VIP ticket from Festival Republic? Being a potential Events student from September with a interest into going into Music Festivals would I qualify for one?
