Whether reflections are a problem depends entirely on your viewing conditions. I have a plasma but reflections are not a problem because of the room and position of the TV - if I viewed in the original room and original location then reflections would have been a problem.
If the room is bright reflections will be a problem. If the room is dark then it may be okay but make sure no one can see a reflected window etc in the TV (try with a mirror first if it helps). If you have a CRT at the moment and reflections are not a problem for that then they won't be with a new glass fronted or gloss panel.
Also note that flat screen TVs (including CRT) are much less problematic for reflections than curved CRTs.
