In short no. The unit requires reprogramming. BT Home hubs requires a BT suffix email address XXXXXXXX@BT.com, (X's=phone number) which is embeded in the software.

as djfrancis says the hub would need flashing but would only work for internet or voip not regular landline calls. i believe this is just a bt feature but even i can be wrong at times.

If you mean can you use it to make Voice Over IP calls the answer is no, it is locked to BT's VoIP System - BT Broadband Talk. I am not aware of any code available to reflash the unit

When connected to an ordinary landline (That is to say in POTS or non-VoIP Mode.) the box either passes through a wired phone or acts as a DEC Base Station for BT Hub Phones or DECT phones. So in that case it would work but I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that.

 In short - yes.
The Homehub 2.0 comes pre-programmed with a broadband user name of bthomehub@btbroadband.com
This userid can be changed to any userid your ISP requires.

Click on
1. Settings
2. Advanced settings
3. Continue to Advanced settings
4. Broadband
5. Disconnect
6. The broadband user name can now be edited to the userid required by your ISP.
6. Click on Connect.

Like it is as simple as that!

It would need to be flashed first.
