9300t Using HDMI and SCART together

I have just brought a new 9300t and am using the HDMI co connect to the tv.

I have a DVD recorder connected to the 2nd scart for achiving recordings.

I would like to connect a video sender to the 1st SCART socket to use the box with the TV up stair. only thing is that when I was setting up box I tried both HDMI and SCART to see the difference in piccture quality. I noticed that if the SCART and HDMI were connected then only the SCART worked and the HDMI options were garyed out in the menus.

Has anyone tried this? and Can the scart be made to be dumb (may be cut some pins in the lead) so it does not think it is connected even thought it is.

How about connecting the video sender to AV1 of the DVDR? You may need to alter the power-saving setting of the DVDR to make sure it passes through the signal from the Humax when in standby.
