I find myself torn over Rachel.
I thought she was brilliant at first, but as time went on she just became ridiculously irritating. All that "Brendaaaahn!!!" and "No-one comes between me and MY man!" rubbish really put me off her.
Game-wise, she was appalling. The next Janelle? I think not. Janelle, like Rachel, was rubbish at the strategic part of the game but she was a survivor. Compare Rachel's performance in veto competitions to Janelle's. Rachel didn't get that far in the game really, and in many ways she was lucky she didn't go in week one.
In addition, she really wasted her HoH weeks by getting people's backs up and ending up getting rid of people who probably were lesser threats to her than other HGs. (I know Monet didn't like her, but there was no indication that Monet was going to be a big power broker in the house, and the eviction of Kristen was driven purely by personal dislike rather than strategic considerations).
It's weird though. I found Janelle's wacko pronouncements and 'Bye bye, bitches' to be endearing, whereas the more Rachel tried to emulate them, the more it put me off her. Plus, I hated the fact she always looked so confused and constantly was asking 'why, why, why?' when she's supposed to be an intelligent woman. I think Ragan has a bitch complex the size of Texas, but a lot of what he said to her in that argument rang quite true. And she was spoiling for a fight when she came back to the house.
The showmance made me want to vomit as well, though 'Brendaaaaahn' is worse with his whole 'the woman I love, the woman I'm going to marry and have kids with' bilge.
.. Sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant

. In conclusion - Rachel, big character? Yes. Good player? No. Do I like her? Used to. Gone off her in a big way. But then I don't tend to *like* many BBUSA housemates - if you go into BBUS trying to find someone you like you're going to generally have a hard time of it.
