Yes, it's not good though, you could add one of these mini speakers for an improvement - XMI X mini II, Veho 360, X Mini Max.

The 2nd and 3rd gen iTouch has a very small speaker which is better than nothing (playing games or watching videos in a fairly quiet environment, or listening to internet radio in a noisy place by holding it up to your ear, for instance) but for music you'll want to use the 'phones or some sort of speaker/dock.

The 1st gen iTouch has no internal speaker.

Smaller space = smaller, worse quality speaker. Jobs admitted that it was only for casual listening.
