iPod Touch Random Crashing?

I got a new iPod touch today and it has crashed 3 times already in the past 4-5 hours.

What I mean by this is I went to jailbreakme.com slide the slider and it exited safari. Tried it several times and it did the same,

It did it in Twitter aswell, also in get glue and gowalla. My iPhone never used to do this, anyone any ideas?

You cannot jailbreak it at jailbreakme.com if you have 4.0.2. - It just won't work after 4.0.1.

I never updated it after OS4 buggering my 3G iPhone, so its still on 3.1.3

If it's a new iPod Touch it shouldn't have any problem with iOS 4 in theory (just like with the iPhone 3gs), but the older ones do have problems (just like with the iPhone 3g). And quite a few of the apps in the App Store have been optimised for iOS 4 now, in fact some no longer even work on the iPad anymore (with the latest 3.2.2 software) when they used to work fine before iOS 4. Can't wait for the iOS 4 update for the iPad this autumn.

New iPod Touch's with 32GB or 64GB storage will work better with iOS 4.x, as it was designed for them. It is those older iTouch's where it works rather less well as they don't have the hardware to cope satisfactorily with the increased demands, resulting in more frequent crashing, and generally slower performance.
