I hope Cheryl will not mess up with the song choice for Katie because it will be critical to get the right song.
Anyone knows what theme will be next week ? |

hm ive heard Disco or best of british. Storm was raving about his costume (oh god can u imagine if its disco!!) but i hope they dress katie far more simply this week and a simpler song she can just stand and sing!

Disco ... that would be a Storm in the making ha ha.
![]() But honestely i'd rather have the british theme because it would be a better and more varied theme for everyone. |

I like Katie too, hope people give her a chance this week! Loved her sing off performance, a song like that can keep her in the comp abit longer, Cheryl needs to pick wisely this week

It would be intresting to hear Katie sing Madonna's Frozen or The power of Goodbye or Gwen's 4 in the morning ... or maybe Pink's I don't believe you or glitter in the air.

Something by Oasis? One of their lower key numbers might be good - I am still waiting to be as won over by Katie as I was at her first audition, and I want her to sing something low key.
I liked her from the begining but then wasn't sure. She won me over again with the Beatles sing off song last week tbh... |

Didn't think of Oasis, could be! I hope whatever she sings is a slow / mid tempo song.
I liked her from the begining but then wasn't sure. She won me over again with the Beatles sing off song last week tbh... I thought she was much better in her sing off which is why I am happy to give benefit of the doubt until at least I see what she brings on Saturday. I am hoping that all this "diva, wannabe" hype is just that - hype. Also Lisa seemed to think she was lovely, and she's actually had a chance to assess at close proximity, |

Hey there! Just wanted to drop in and say I'm a tentative Katie fan. I had this big impression she was a "diva" and just in it for the fame but after Sunday I was pretty impressed.
I listened to her auditions properly and think she actually has a decent voice and from interviews and stuff I've seen she seems like a pleasant girl. Maybe a drama queen but definitely nice with a good voice. I hope she manages to wow everyone on Saturday and earn herself a bit more time to win people over. I'm not supporting her completely yet but I might be if she keeps up the good singing!

Fingers crossed for a good song choice from cheryl and a good performance from katie. She needs a chance to get people to see through Gamu Gate or whatever the papers wrote about her and judge her on her performances.

Sorry for consecutive posts.
Beautiful by Christina Aguilera would be a great song choice with meaningfull lyrics - at least for the survival song. Hopefully she won't need one this week. |

She's got a huge voice with tones that make that song practically impossible to cover well by anyone else. Katie's voice is not a big voice. Its more a "pretty" voice from what I've heard. Not saying she couldnt sing Christina, but I'm not sure the ultimate comparison would do her any favours. Just trying to play devil's advocate. I think she could do a Katie Melua song very well. Someone like that, who's quirky voice Katie could possibly do justice too. Thoughts? |

I think you're right with christina ...you have a point there . i thought it would be an idea because of the lyrics.
Now Katie Melua ... that would be a great choice for her... When you thought me how to dance, I cried for you or Spider Web Though i got a feeling that we're expecting diversity from x factor and all we're going to get is the same old same old song choices. |

I think thats a great choice for her. She can show that she can sing with that one - I wait to be turned around in my opinion of her talent levels. MUCH better than some big diva number or trying to do Queen, which frankly no-one can do justice too except Freddie Mercury.....
I know its a bit funny of me to post in appreciation when I'm not her biggest fan, but I genuinely want her to do well, if you get what I mean. I think its one of those "underdog" things, plus the fact that I genuinely liked her first audition, and her quirky personality. I wish her good luck. If I like it I will say so, if I still feel afterwards that she is overrated I will also say that, but then bow out of her appreciation thread gracefully ![]() Go on Katie. One shot now - pull it out of the bag!! |

Credit where it is due, that was Katie's best performance to date. It was warm and sincere and I rather enjoyed it.
P.S. I am not even drinking. Good for her. |
