I love Madonna and have seen her perform a number of times but I just cannot see this happening. Las Vegas isn't Madonna.

I'm not so sure. In her younger days she was delightfully camp.

I would go and see her if I was there. I'm not a huge fan but she's just one of those people that I think people should see as they will move (or have moved ) into legend status.

she won't do it! Madonna is an exceptional live artist! seen her last year with her Sticky & Sweet Tour and most live DVD's and performances, she is too much of a WORLD superstar musician than a las vegas entertainer like Cher and Celine Dion (no offense to those artists as i am fond of them) but Madonna has so much more to do i mean with her Live Nation deal firstly promoting her tours for at least another decade since signing, then her new deal with a new record company to coincide with her 12h studio album (and several more) so she will turn this down if it was indeed offered to her.

My thoughts is that this is just speculation as with that Hip Hop tour which isn't happening as she is filming W.E and has her fashion line with D&G and of course Macy's Material Girl line with Lourdes this year. Next year will (i imagine) start the recording for an exciting new album, she has stated in interviews she wants to push the standards and continue to be against the grain (June's Interview Magazine) which is as ever always exciting when it's Madonna.

So i am thinking there is no truth in it and if so she will decline or Guy Oseary will decline.

I think she should wait a few years yet. There's still a place in the charts for Madonna, and she should go to Vegas to extend her career when a time comes where she cant sell a million albums, ala Celine Dion who was so successful there.

I actually think the timing is perfect for her.

Take this now, have a couple of years still performing, but less in the public eye then BOOM comeback in 3years (I think 5 is too long), toned down image slightly but with absolutely killer material.

If she played Vegas I would most definitely go out to see it, do it now BEFORE she's past it, I think she'd relish at the opportunity.

^ Totally agree.

Her act requires a lot of high energy showmanship unlike Celine et all who mostly stand and sing with a bit of cabaret. She's obviously fit and healthy for her age, but I don't see her being able to, or wanting to, pull it off into her 60's.

Madonna would be perfect for a Vegas residency. She could stage a ridiculously elaborate show. If nothing else, she may appreciate being able to settle down for a few years for the benefit of her family. Plus, she would no doubt love the income...probably funding all sorts of charitable things.

She could probably do it after her next album.

she is not right for vegas... cheapens her edgy persona i guess...but Kylie would be perfect 'the return of the showgirl'

I doubt she'd even come anywhere near $1billion from a personal tour so this would be perfect if she wanted a massive fat cheque.

It shouldn't happen Las Vegas is where you go when you don't sell anymore, Madonna has not reached that stage yet and i hope she never will.

Madonna likes her crowd to get into the groove Las Vegas will not do that the audience will be full of seat sitters something she hates.

The Live Nation deal was for 4 world tours in a decade so look out Wembly and hopefully Manchester because she is killer at the MEN she will be back soon.

^^^THIS! i mean hopefully her new contract will be about 4 or 5 records, similar deal with Live Nation perhaps, so her deal with Live Nation will finish when she is about 59 years old (may still be a renewed contract) but i really don't want her to sell herself short by doing a las vegas deal!

I mean her last Hard Candy album may have divided audiences but the tour is the biggest by a solo artist and also her album sold 4 million which many cannot reach! and it is more than certain she is planning something huge for her next album/era, she has grown so much as an artist and am sure that this next decade will/should show this . PLUS she loves to travel the world and Las Vegas isn't her. Kylie is more that like a previous poster suggested, Kylie has similarities to Cher and Celine in the respect of having cabaret campy glitsy style acts and pop whereas Madonna ISNT this she's a far more elaborate musician and entertainer, probably why i love her so much

shes too good for vegas, you cant compare her to cher and celine dion. Madonna is a fantastic performer and she is STILL successful to this day. I hope she brings out a new album next year, it been to long now. but i just hope she still wants to make music

The only reason why celine does it, is because no one buys her albums and singles but her label know if she does her las vegas tours, it brings in huge amount of money

Plus it annoys me that Celine does this. What about her british or australian fans etc. They are not gonna pay huge amounts of money to fly over and see her. It's easy for US fans. Why not be a proper artist and tour all over the world?

Madonna is still very much commericially successful even though Hard candy wasn't a huge seller. So i can't see this happening.

Are you serious? I love Madonna, but if she's to good for Vegas, then Celine must be to good for a residency at the biggest venue in the world. You cant compare Celine and Madonna, because Celine has ten times the talent of Madonna, and I say that as a Madge fan

yeah i know that lol, but what i mean is in terms of success madonna is still huge, as long as she has the right producers she will be fine

what i love about Madonna is that even though the previous album may have sales that appear low by Madonna's standards they are still higher than what many can achieve and also she can have massive commercial success with the follow up.

American Life is an example, it's her lowest selling album with 4 million, yet two years later she released the blockbuster Confessions on A Dance Floor which has thus far sold 16 million globally! matching Music in 2000 and Ray Of light's success relatively, plus ALL her tours are off the scale!

also she completes filming of W.E this year so next year she starts recording with a new label!!! she will be huge for ever, i think that her next album will be huge already...i dunno i just feel it somehow, she may go for an underground approach or something unusual i'm just excited! in all honesty Madonna's a global artist NOT a Vegas performer.
