I can't see a thread on this, so I thought I'd start one. I was never Olly's biggest fan when he was on the X Factor, but I have to say this interview in the NOTW is one of the most spiteful and cruelest I've ever read! This twin brother seems full of bitterness, spite and pure jealousy towards Olly. The fact that he has even cut off his entire family speaks volumes. He seems to really resent the fact that Olly's appearance on the X Factor took the spotlight off his own wedding. He even seems to resent the fact that his family clapped louder at the live X Factor shows than they did when he gave his wedding speech! Hello, there's a massive difference between a wedding reception and a live X Factor show!

It must have been awful that Olly couldn't be best man at the wedding, but if that had been me I'd have understood that the X Factor was a once in a lifetime chance that would probably never happen again, and I'd have wanted my brother to pursue it full on.

I can't imagine the family ever speaking to him ever again after he sold this story! What a thoroughly spiteful thing to do!

Olly is very sensitive about wearing a hairpiece, and insisted that Ben wear one too so they looked like proper twins once Olly was in the limelight.

That was the beginning of the end...

I haven't read it. I try to avoid the NOTW like the plague as most of the stories they carry are only given out of spite. The scorned girlfriend etc. I dont know much about Olly but he seems like a decent bloke trying hard to make a living.

His brother still had hair in this picture on today's paper, so I can't really see that being true? If he'd fallen out with Olly he'd have taken it off.

I read the NOTW (my daughter is a paper girl, that's my excuse, I didn't buy it!) and I have to admit, the brother sounds very bitter and resentful of his twin's success. The jealousy just steams off the page. I hope the amount he got paid will make up for the fact his entire family will never speak to him again.

Did you see his comment about how he could tell his family would rather be at the X Factor that at his wedding? Not being awful, but wouldn't you be? It's no different to those people you see at weddings who'd rather be at a football match and always check their mobiles to see the score.

Realistically, a £45,000.00 wedding is not that easy to just "postpone."

I think he regrets not rescheduling his wedding when Olly got into the final - surely it wouldn't have been that arduous to do. Then Olly could have been best man, and the wedding may even have been covered by one of the trashier celebrity magazines.
The interview makes him sound petty and spiteful. The comment "He says he's slept with 30 women, what rubbish, he's only ever brought one home" made me laugh - as if young men bring home all their casual shags to meet the family!

Interesting couple of old interviews given by his brother around the wedding:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/...5875-21788638/

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...on-Cowell.html

He's absolutely find with him missing the wedding in these interviews and is telling him to seize his chance and take his opportunity, and that he told him to concentrate on the show, not the wedding when he got back from boot camp and that he said 'You can't be in two places at once, my best mate will stand in for you'. Which is giving him permission not to go basically.

Ben says that what upsets him is that he didn't tell him that he wasn't coming. But in these interviews he says that even up till right before the wedding neither of them knew if he would come or not because they didn't know if any last minute arrangements could be made.

Plus he says he didn't phone but the articles says Olly listened to the ceremony via phone.

Either this is one seriously embittered brother who doesn't remember what happened and what he said.

OR how else was Olly going to get a Sunday red top front page and a story which mentioned his single release several times UNLESS someone was to sell a slightly unflattering story about him? Maybe Olly's not that upset about this story...and maybe he and his brother haven't fallen out quite as much as is being claimed...

Agreed. Maybe Olly's announcement last week that he would pose nude for Heat if his single topped the charts didn't generate the buzz he was hoping for.

Its a shame that they dont speak, the brother doesnt talk to the parents and olly still lives with them.

He is supposed to have said this

'I watch my brother - the same person I shared a womb with - on TV now and it's like I don't even know who he is.

Blimey how cynical!!! And how very probably true - any publicity is good publicity.

That's possible of course and Olly does have a record out

I'm sure Ben even says he's not going to their sisters wedding because Olly will be there and he no longer speaks to her either. If he's for real then he's very petty and very spiteful.

And don't forget Olly will get the chance to RESPOND too, probably in the Sun next week. 'Olly Murs, who's single comes out this week, spoke of his love for his brother and his devastation at allegations his success has torn his family apart "We all love Ben" Murs,27, who's single is out next week said, "All we want is for our family to be back together and reunited. In time for the release of my single this week".'

Then they'll meet up somewhere subtle and accidently phone the paps and tell them where so there can be 'an emotional union just days ahead of Murs discovering the chart position for his recently released single..'

Yadda, yadda, yadda. Then if it charts he can just start pretending to go out with Diana Vickers again.

i thought it was very spiteful and screams sibley rivalry.

If you're not a minor celebrity's agent, you damn well should be! I think Olly Murs, whose single is out next week, will almost certainly respond to his brother's hurtful comments next week, when his single is out...

Its probably all set up

Olly will respond by saying how sorry he is bla bla bla

Then the other one will sell his story saying how they've patched things up

You can just see $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, but hey, the money for the wedding needs to come from somewhere

Yeah that makes more sense now - publicity for Olly (who's got a single out next week) and plenty of dosh for the brother to pay off his debts from the wedding. I expect the sister will chip in with a story of her own as well - hey she may even get a bit of celebrity status herself and be able to have a big swanky wedding as well. With Olly and his twin brother, now reconciled, as joint best man, and OK magazine footing the bill.

Meanwhile, Olly's got a single out, did you realise that?
