All 3 of them were identical - sporting the "hooker out in the daylight ensemble"
The compulsory cheap look for females in the music industry who can't sing.

Bel Mooney agrees with you.

Although parents have to take some responsibility. You could argue it's their responsibility to make sure their children aren't sitting in their rooms listening to Lady GaGa. I don't think any of the acts you mentioned at the V festival have particularly sexualised lyrics in their songs.

It's the classic cries of 'WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!' from parents who either shelter their kids to an extreme and often counter productive manner, or parents who don't see the irony of blaming someone else for the way their children end up.

Pixie Lott, Diana Vickers and Taylor Momsen types are hardly unrealistic representations of some of the teenage girls around these days. Obviously they're a touch exaggerated because they're entertainers, but it's not far off. They are not the cause of the problem, they are merely part of the 'problem'.

As for Lady Gaga, she is clearly not aimed at children and I find it hilarious that anyone expects her to censor herself for them. She's a 24 year old woman in full rockstar mode, not a CBBC presenter.

Actually you know what OP, I agree with you.

How dare these girls show flesh

I think all entertainers should wear habits and that way we can all live in peace

Ahhh so because these three girls dress this way, all younger generations of girls will follow in their footsteps because they are all sheep who have no minds of their own? ok.

By the way, Pixie Lott can sing. Though because she dresses in a way you do not like you will probably overlook her talent.

Diana Vickers & Pixie Lott sounded flat throughout, first time id heard them sing live to be fair though.

There is a bloody massive leap between the "Lolita beds and padded bra's" mentioned in the article from the independent to the wardrobe choices of a selection of entertainers in their late teens.

The whole issue is a massive abdication of parental resposibility. If you don't want your children exposed to inapropriate material, don't let them have access to it, and where that is not possible, explain the reasons why something is inappropriate, and the behaviour on show is not possitive.

If children grow up so poorly adjusted that they look up to bloody pixie lott as an example of how they should behave then I think parents should be looking at their self rather than blaming external forces.

And how does Pixie Lott behave to be accounted for having such a poor image in your own terms?

I don't really have a poor image of Pixie Lott.

I think she's a perfectly decent pop star, my point was that role models should be found at home not on a stage at the V festival.

I'm simply making the point that parents should be showing acting as the role models for their children, not complaining when pop stars don't live up to their expectations.

Pixie Lott's job is to sell records not raise the nations children.

Ah, I totally understand and agree.

The image of being a popstar though automatically intertwines with the concept that you are being a role model for young teens which is the unfortunate thing really.

I say leave pop stars to produce music and definitely find the role models at home

Poor lass. I'm no fan of her music but I don't think she deserves to be labelled a corrupter of the young.

They looked great but V Festival's musical credibility has taken a big hit if they put pop dross like that on the main stages. Shouldn't they have been at that T4 thing at Weston Super Mare instead?

People should be forced to dress like Neil Hanlon from the Divine Comedy die, wearing a suit, tie and bowler hat
