CONSPIRACY. Specifically, the theory of the Chosen One. Was OTR a fix? Proponents of the theory may say:
1. Dan won, and Dan was ALW's favourite from early doors. ALW might have given the editors a shove. He ended up with Jodie last time and might have wanted to do his best to get his choice this time round. He has invested a lot in WoO.
2. Dan's breakthrough, Mambo Italiano, came at a strategic time. In these shows it is important not to peak too early! The show was a marathon, not a sprint. ALW might have cunningly decided to get Dan off to a slow start, knowing he could save her if the public did not notice her.
3. Dan's birthday party. Getting to play Dorothy early may have placed a subliminal message in viewers' minds. Also we didn't see the other girls made a fuss of.
So is there anything in all this, or is it a figment of the imagination of embittered Stephanie fans? I express no view at this stage.
Get talking please. Not that we have to stay on topic ALL the time. This is DS. There is no chairman of the board!”
ALW if he did make danielle his favourite should have knew what a risk he was taking in doing so. Im still actually surprised that he made it so obvious especially during mambo that he loved danielle considering what his favouritism done in the previous series.
I always thought Mambo in week 5 was a risk in terms of being too early for her BAM performance. But Considering week 6 went quite badly (for everyone) she was sort of saved. Truthfully I think Mambo could have came at any time and it would still have been the most stand out performance of the series.
I didnt think too much of the future predicting party, I simply thought Danielle got to be Dorothy because she won. Although Stephanie as the wicked witch and her fans being the ones most upset might have been a bit too coincidental.
A lso if ALW really really wanted Danielle to win and he was totally biased he would have allowed her to do high tempo songs in the weeks following mambo because she could have smashed them instead he sent her back to too ballad/soft songs and only gave he high tempo in the final which again could be suggested as favouritism but in order to do this he had to get her to the final first so giving her ballads was risky. So he cant really in my opinion be argued of blatant favouritism although he was very keen.
To a certain extent I think ALW played the game of getting who he wanted. However he didnt just do this with Danielle. I think he did it with Lauren also, he kept her there as a safe option incase his chosen dorothy didnt win, despite the public not completely taking to her. I cant really blame him either, he is staking his reputation and investing his own money on this production of course he will want some influence to make sure its a definite success, (however it can be argued that because he made this a public show he lost these rights of influence)
Well that was a ramble, hopefully it makes sense.
