I just love a debate. The winning girl had to be a triple threat. However, the winner was never going to be absolutely the best at all three things (singing, acting and dancing). That would have been asking too much.

I too know where going with too, but that's your opinion, i get it, it makes sense. But for me, from all the songs she has done there are only 3 that i like to only listen to. The others are great to look at but that's because of her acting. But don't let this make you think that i don't like her voice. For me it's stil in the top 4

All completely true....if someone was unbeatable at everything then there would be no need to improve....which is why Danielle is going to arts ed, to become unbeatable

Right now we've discussed Danielle's biggest threats rather well I think its time we asked ourselves this...

Who appealed the most to you (excluding Danielle) from a Dorothy perspective?

I get all your opinions, but for me if i can name 3 people that i think are better than her, then I'm not going to say she's flawless. For me a flaw is something that is not perfect. And yes there were more people who were not perfect and i can get that people don't think that Steph was perfect. Danielle is not perfect in my eyes and that is something that i really like. Now before i get attacked, Of course i think she's great and she will have a great future, and she will always be the rightful winner. I can listen to some of her songs all day, but i can also be critical about her. And no, I'm not saying that all of you can't do that. Everyone has their own taste ,and I'm glad to give a different answer.

I always though that Danielle had the best tone of voice but not the best vocal range.
Then again we know most of the other girls has vocal training of some sort but did we never know if danielle had any? we only ever heard about her dance training and acting ability. So her vocal range could possibly be improved with training.


ETA: Snowwolf please don't feel you have to defend youself ( not sure if that's the right word) your entitled to your opinion, I won't hold it against you anyway. once your in the mafia your in it for life lol.

That's funny! When it got to like the last four that's when I felt that Danielle was most at risk although the double elimination was worrying too. She was up against Jessica which was a good thing. Anywayy yeee I was worried that Danielle could fall at the last hurdle having few to be in the bottom 2 then. Thank goodness it didn't happen!

hmmm that's an interesting question. At the beginnning before noticing Danielle cos she didn't exactly throw herself out there (this is something I like about her btw that she wasn't in your face!) I liked Bronte. She may have been blonde but she looked fairly young and I liked her voice. She always seemed cheery and funny and in the acting mission the week she went I loved how she brushed her hands on her dress before introducing herself. I go to my mum that's such a dorothy thing to do. I loved her little ways I was sad that we didn't get a chance to see her develop. I may have changed my mind but in the first two weeks I didn indeed love Bronte. I liked Steph and Lauren too but not overly like I did with Bronte and Danielle. The only other person who always caught my eye and I was often quite impressed with was Stephanie. I liked her voice generally and she often had loud bubbly songs suiting her personality. I was honestly surprised when she was as everyone else puts it 'bojangled' and left :S At least it was one less threat to Danielle and the rightful person won!

I have to admit I liked sophie and stephanie before danielle ( am I sacked from the mafia?) but I think that was because we saw more of them early on. I also really liked sophie's niceness ( don't think that's a word).
So probably either of them if it couldn't have been danielle.

Yes. In my opinion, there were three true "triple threats" on OTR (Lauren, Steph and Danielle), meaning that all three were proficient in acting, singing and dancing, but again none of them were perfect. Also, even "triple threats" are not equal in all three disciplines--they often have one or two areas that they are the best in, even though they are good at all three.

As for Danielle's voice, I think that while she didn't have the most powerful voice of the contestants, she had excellent tone and expression and hers is the voice I most like to listen to. Also, I'm sure her voice will improve in range and power with age and training.



This is a difficult question to answer. On the surface, it would be Sophie, because she also had that "youthful, innocent" quality and likability factor that I think Dorothy needs. Still, she had some limitations in her acting and movement that made me wonder whether she was ready for a West End lead. I think she's going to be fine as the alternate, though, because she will have some training to work on those limitations before the show opens and she won't have the pressure of being the main lead.

Overall, now that I think about it, the one I could most easily imagine as Dorothy after Danielle is probably Bronte. It's sad that she went out so early. Still, in my opinion Danielle was and is the ideal Dorothy, and if this had been a regular audition,she would have been cast in a heartbeat.

These are also my sentiments, Apollonia. My passion for Dan is such that I claim no objectivity. Having said this, I don't expect this to be a thread where admiration for Dan is slavishly uncritical. All opinions are welcome, so long as the undertone is appreciation of Dan.

I was a fan of Claire Harbourne. She should have taken Emilie's place. The Lord made clear that Emilie's weakness was her voice - a serious weakness to have. Claire, on the other hand, is a fine singer. I know this because I have seen productions at her school in Blackpool.
