"Undercover Boss" recording finishes early

Every single week, the recording for this programme on Channel 4 ends prematurely. Guess I'll have to set a manual timer in the future and just hope that the time of the program doesn't change.

Does anybody else get this? If so I'll see if I can contact Channel 4 to moan at them. If I recall correctly then Grand Designs used to do this too.

You do indeed recall correctly.

I've had issues with E4 playing out programs behind schedule, and have found C4 to run behind a lot in the past. Seems they don't sync the program data with the program broadcast. I just use the yellow button to convert the series linked schedule entry to a weekly timer with a five minute pad at the end. Only had to do this on E4 so far. Don't want to enable padding for all channels and to date BBC and ITV channels have all recorded accurately for me (been using the HDR for 9 months).

Undercover boss does this every time for me and Secret Millionaire used to be the same. It seems C4 have a real problem getting the end of these reality programs right.

I've always had issues with recordings of C4 programmes in the 9pm slot cutting off early on freeview and freesat. Its defo a C4 issue and they should fix it.

I wonder if the same thing happens for Sky users? Just a thought...

Sky boxes don't have Accurate Recording as far as I'm aware, so it won't happen for them.

Sky boxes rely on the start and end signals sent by the broadcasters on their "auto" setting - is this what you mean by accurate recording. Recordings can also have buffers added to their published start and end times as well as totally manual recordings.
