The average for the first week was up on the final GMTV weeks (but that could have been due to the end of the summer holidays) and was helped by the initial rating of 1m for the first morning. By the end of the first week, IIRC, they were at the GMTV average. By tuesday morning of the second week, the ratings were down below the GMTV average.

This is the thing they've been doing on the internet, which is a part-improvised Curb Your Enthusiasm-type thing where they "play" "Trinny and Susannah", a pair of fashion journalists whose careers have gone down the toilet. And now it's on the telly. Where it'll flop.

Yes those were the BARB figures which all the major broadcasters accept. I'm not sure, therefore, how ITV could claim yesterday that they were 11% up on GMTV's last figures.And interestingly the figures for BBC Breakfast and Sky Sunrise have barely moved - so where have all the viewers gone ? To radio ?

They didn't say they were up this week, they said they were up last week. Last week includes the better watched first few launch days but as Kenny points out since Friday its below Gmtvs poor average.

No other ratings for yesterday? The Daybreak ones should be interesting.

well DS didn't report them today. Broadcast neither. Makes me suspicious. It sounds like it doesnt fit their story narrative.

Decent night for BBC1 with TOS having a huge week on week increase showing how much the show can fluctuate and BGTT benefiting from very weak competition.

Rare to see BBC2 below 1m in 3 key primetime slots, but unsurprising really considering what they were airing.

Below par for the football, but on ITV3 Midsomer seemed to perform very well giving ITV3 an all day share of 3% which is excellent for midweek.

Average start for Food and pretty unspectular for the Jacko doc, but Grand Designs returned to good numbers, albeit down from last series. CH4 do need to find more breakout hits though.

Strong night for FIVE with a repeat of Michaela benefiting from no soaps and Emergency Bikers finishing on a series high.

why would you compare a news outlet to a company sales dept?

Because, as you intimated, one may have an agenda that delights in seeing DB fail, the other has an agenda that would delight in seeing it succeed?

As I said a bit earlier - seems like most ratings are thin on the ground for yesterday (apart from a couple of spots on a couple of channels). Nowt for BBC1/ITV1 etc as a whole though

News sites are not supposed to have an agenda. ITV Sales is selling ITV. Why would you expect it to highlight negative news about the company?

Last night's episode of Grand Designs goes in at number 7 on Channel 4's most watched shows of the year.

Daybreak doing terrible but was to be expected. They will overhaul it come new year. Stupid ITV as usual.

Interesting The One Show was up 780,000 on last week at 4.38 million (22%). Corresponding edition last year got 4.10 m (under the old management of course).I'm surprised the DS scribe didn't have the news sense to include the breakfast figures today.

I see ITV have stuck DCI Banks into the 9pm slot on 27/9 with no press pack/launch or announcement. Genuine question-Are they trying to tell us something about DCI Banks?

Why would you expect the news sites to highlight DBs ratings anyway, until they become "newsworthy" by being significantly higher or lower than "normal"?

Clashes with Spooks. Idiots!!!

A depressing top 20 for Channel 4. I hadn't realised things were this bad. Strip away BB, the film premieres, ended shows and one offs, and you can cut that lot in half. Next year it's going to be a lot easier for C4 shows to make this list, and I have a horrible feeling that C4 won't hit 4m again for a very long time.
