The BBC website "advertises" whoever's got live coverage of the footy:

e.g. Channel 5 tonight: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/8994081.stm

ESPN now: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/8994528.stm

They had links to ITV.com and STV during the world cup when those channels were live streaming matches...

Although I see the point your making, C4 will do fine. It's basically like saying where would ITV be without X Factor, BGT, Corrie and Emmerdale.

Huw will almost certainly commentate on the ceremonies. I think the Opening Ceremony is really a cultural event & not a sports event so they would never let someone like Hazel do it on her own. Huw seems to do a lot of big events now - I note he is fronting the coverage of the Papal visit.”

Looks like Huw is set to ruin the London ceremonies as he did in Beijing. He's now confirmed as commentating on the Delhi ceremonies for the Commonwealth Games.

BBC confirmed details of Delhi coverage today. Hazel Irvine will front the morning coverage from 8am on BBC2 (though early coverage from 4am is only on the red button), with Claire Balding taking over at 11am on BBC1, John Inverdale fronting athletics in the afternoon and Sue Barker and Jake Humphreys hosting Commonwealth Games report at 5pm on BBC1 and highlights on BBC2 at 7pm. Sue Barker will host the ceremony coverage too.

Is it an ITV Studios production? They tend to save their best stuff for the BBC.

ITV Studios do make a lot of good shows for other broadcasters as some shows may not fit the ITV brand. CDWM must be the one ITV1 regrets not picking up but I imagine it makes a lot of money for them. They don't make drama series for their rivals though with the exception of The Street which I believe ITV1 turned down. I believe Longford and The Deal were turned down before Channel 4 took them on.

Just realised, Question Time is back on tonight for a Labour leadership special. Predictions? I'm going for around 2-2.5m

Looking at the updated ratings. BBC will be bringing back the lottery game show to pair with Strictly Come Dancing. They recorded a brand new show called Secret Fortune in June with Nick Knowles, but it seems the Beeb does not want the new show to be slaughted by The X Factor. So they will be showing another series of In It to Win It instead. Although the latest series was recorded last week, this will be the third series the 12 Yard/ITV show have aired since January,

So from the looks of things, we could be seeing this line up from 2nd October.

5.30-6.00 Walk on the Wild Side
6.00-6.45 Merlin
6.45-8.00 Strictly Come Dancing
8.00-8.50 In It to Win It
8.50-9.40 Casualty
9.40-10.10 Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow
10.10-10.30 News
10.30-11.55 MoTD

Apologies if already noted: http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/mm/Docu...040389_PDF.pdf

All England games at weekends, will be interesting to see if the weekday games are on ITV1 - not sure what happened in 2003.

According to the BBC press office George is on at 9pm (which would be sensible. Avoids X Factor.)

No wonder ITV1 rarely show Arsenal Champions League matches because they usually don't rate well, especially at the group stage. Their previous group match on ITV1 rated even worse (3.4m vs. Porto in 2008). Solid ratings for BBC1 - good boost for Bang Goes The Theory but it'll probably fall back down next week against The Unforgettable. Decent return for Grand Designs but a bit down from the rating for the previous series opener and I suspect it'll fall even further when it faces Midsomer Murders and possibly The Apprentice. Fantastic numbers for C4 in the 5pm hour - Come Dine with Me getting its highest share ever in that slot and boosting Coach Trip too. Pretty good evening for Five to average more than BBC2 between 8-11pm.

As for tonight, I think The Road to Coronation Street will get BBC4's highest ever rating.

I think The Street was actually originally intended for C4 as well.

Five's Thursday night Europa League football is in HD for the first time tonight. I'm watching in good old SD but the consensus seems to be the picture quality is excellent! Jim Rosenthal is the new presenter.

Two massive improvements to Five's football coverage for the new season.

Is Jim an improvement on Colin Murray, I'm not watching it at the moment but I've alway thought Colin was a decent presenter especially when you consider they had John Barnes before!

Speaking of Five, they done an good if slightly amusing piece of scheduling for the 26th September with I think the terrestrial premiere of Hercules at 5.20pm along with 300 at 9pm so it's a Greek themed Sunday.

I've never rated Colin Murray myself, but I know he's pretty popular and obviously better than John Barnes! Jim is a more experienced sports broadcaster and will help boost Five's reputation for its football coverage.

Is the Will Smith season coming to an end this weekend then? I've been enjoying that. Looking forward to 300 though. Not sure how it will rate but I agree with you that it will beat Juno.

Also, C4 have scheduled an episode of Undercover Boss before Juno at 8pm on Sunday 26th. Is that a repeat?

It is, I think it could have done one more week as do they have the rights to Bad Boys II, if they do another Will Smith season they'll be able to show Hancock! 300, I think will do 2-2.5m but if it had been shown on a less competitive Sunday, it could done 3m.

Undercover Boss is a repeat of the first episode from the first episode, seems odd as it won't rate that well, I would have opted to show the US version.

Just been reading back a few pages where everyone is talking about Tuesday evenings being ITV1's flop zone, but what can they actually put on which will do well?

They put drama on and it does bad, reality does bad, documentaries do bad etc etc

Its like people on Tuesday have their TVs automatically set to BBC1 and can't find the remove, but suddenly find it the next day.

What would people here like to see from ITV on Tuesdays?

It would seem logical to move the Monday 8:30 Corrie to Tuesday and keep it there to prop up the schedule.

I hope Digiguide is correct with the 8.30pm start.

I really think ITV needs to have a hit with Downton Abbey and if the XFactor can kill off the first half hour of George Gently, then that's good.

The BBC do give George Gently lots of repeat slots, so it won't be lost in the ether.

It could well do, whats the current record rating? It was an excellent show, Jesse Wallace could actually be a dark horse for a BAFTA nomination for that performance!

I do hope the Corrie drama did well for BBC4, it was superb.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a repeat on BBC Two or BBC One if this does well for BBC Four and it's another successful drama under their belt. Although I have criticise the channel for doing so many biopics, they are very good.

The ratings record is 1.4m for Curse of Steptoe although I believe Enid and Gracie! both broke 1m as well. The only other thing to break 1m was Ian Hislop off the Rail.

Well it certainly won't hit the heights of the Nick Griffin episode. This one will be more for hardcore Labour supporters and party members and 2.5 million is generous, I'd say 1.8 million.

with a bit more promotion I could have seen it get 2 milllion, but there has not been all that much promotion on screen, its been left to the press.

if Corrie fans are loyal to the show, and promot this amongsts themselves, it might still do 2 million
