I could see Body of Proof and Rizzoli & Isles airing on More4, should Channel 4 be interested in buying them. They just scream More4, in my opinion.

Further scheduling change for Saturday 4th September, Tonight's the Night has been dumped because John Barrowman is presenting National Lottery's Big Night - as thus Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit is on from 18:20 to 19:40 on BBC1.

Rizzoli & Isles is obviously being aimed at a similar audience to The Closer which is already on More4 so it would probably fit well with the channel. Covert Affairs is the breakout hit among adults 18-49 this summer so I could see it being picked up. It has a female lead, so possibly Living TV? |

As far as US acquisitions go, I think this is it so far:
Lonestar - Sky1 (20th Century FOX TV) Raising Hope - Sky1 (20th Century FOX TV) Ride-Along - Sky1 (20th Century FOX TV) The Event - Channel 4 (Universal Media Studios) Chase - Living TV (Warner Bros TV) Nikita - Living TV (Warner Bros TV ) |

It may have been bought from the More4 budget, however the first trails were for it only on C4.

Premiered Monday 25 January 2010 and, from the following week, first run episodes were then shown on More4 on Thursdays at 9:00pm (with Channel 4's screening the following Wednesday).

Covert Affairs could go to Living, Bravo, Fiver or Hallmark. Hallmark tends to get a lot of NBC Universal shows due to being own by NBC Universal.
Rizolli and Isles I think Living, More4 or Hallmark. Undercovers, I would have said Sky1 but Five or Virgin/Channel One are likely options as well. Law and Order: LA, Hallmark and Five. Terra Nova, I think there will be a bidding war once the first episode is shown if it is any good. They're starting production in Queensland soon which is unusual given it won't be shown for another year or so. |

Speaking of new dramas, it seems like Off the Map (one of ABC's midseason dramas) could be the reason Brothers & Sisters has been reduced to 18 episodes this season. This is only based on B&S' season 5 article on Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brother...ers_(season_5))). However, given the history of how Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy combo worked (before Grey's moved to Thursdays), it is most likely true.

I thought Tonights the Night ended this Saturday anyway-though I might be wrong.
I also notice BBC one is repeating the BBC3 documentary Small Teen, Big World, on Thursday September 9th. It got 1.1m when it first aired at 9pm on 27/7/10 and another 440k for it's late night repeat. |

Angelina Jolie could be set to take the lead in a new big screen adaptation of ITV mini-series Unforgiven.
The Salt actress has been linked to the upcoming movie which will revolve around a woman who has just been released from jail after serving a 15-year sentence for the murder. She was sent down for murdering two police officers as she battled to stop her family getting chucked out of their home. Now that she's out all she wants is some peace and quiet but that all changes when one of her victim's sons starts to plot revenge. The film will be penned by The Usual Suspects writer Christopher McQuarrie. The original three-part TV series aired early last year. Coronation Street's Suranne Jones starred as the Ruth Slater, the role that Jolie could be taking. http://www.metro.co.uk/film/839216-a...-of-unforgiven |

I assume C4 will split it into two seasons. It will no doubt still get a 'first look' on E4, but as many can't get E4 they wouldn't want to cheese off regular C4 viewers.
Interesting the Derren Brown promos are promoted as airing on "08-09-10". Read into that what you like. |

I hope This Is England 86 is good, it seems to have been promoted for a long time now and appears in nearly every commercial break on 4.

US Final Ratings
BROADCAST:
CBS - Big Brother (8pm) - 7.99m (2.8) NBC - America's Got Talent (9pm) - 10.52m (2.7) FOX - Masterchef (8pm) - 5.09m (2.2) NBC - Minute To Win It (8pm) - 6.44m (1.9) America's Got Talent was up 0.1 from last week and had the highest audience of the night but was pipped in the key ad demo by Big Brother which hit a season high 2.8 rating - which is higher than any episode last season as well (not sure about before that). Masterchef is doing OK, not as well as Hell's Kitchen but probably enough for FOX to do it again. Big Brother has jumped a bit in recent weeks and on current form, could average more than So You Think You Can Dance this summer and achieve year-to-year growth for the second consecutive season. CABLE: COMC - Tosh.O - 2.27m (1.3) MTV - Real World: Back To New Orelans - 2.17m (1.3) USA - Psych - 3.63m (1.2) BRAVO - Top Chef - 2.59m (1.2) TBS - Meet The Browns - 2.74m (1.0) TLC - LA Ink - 1.86m (1.0) TNT - Dark Blue - 2.59m (0.7) Once again, USA got the better of TNT in the scripted battle. Dark Blue doesn't look too secure just now. Meet The Browns on TBS (original sitcom) topped Dark Blue at 10pm. The New Orleans series of Real World seems to be doing well for MTV. Though it could be getting a lift from an improved performance by MTV in general due to Jersey Shore & Teen Mom. twitter.com/travisyanan |

I think all channels will be pretty pleased with last night.

Pretty mediocre night all round, the only notable ones come from C4 where they had a very strong night.

Decent night for all really.
Ultimate Big Brother performed well. Holby City is down slightly with the strange start time and lack of EastEnders lead in. Great British Waste Menu did much better than I expected, though!Quote:
Now that ITV's schedules have updated, we can see the respective battles for the week beginning Sunday 5th September (my opinion on who will win next to it, anything in bold programme wise is new):
05/09 - Secret Britain vs U Be Dead --> ??? win 06/09 - Who Do You Think You Are? vs Bouquet of Barbed Wire --> ??? win 07/09 - The Young Ones vs Help! I Caught it Abroad! 2 --> BBC win 08/09 - Waterloo Road/Crimewatch vs Midsomer Murders (8pm to 10pm) --> ITV win 09/09 - Motorway Cops vs Law and Order UK --> ITV win 10/09 - New Tricks vs Paul O'Grady Live --> BBC win |

Great show which deserves higher numbers. Top Chef has great but not spectacular numbers when compared with Real Housewives of NJ (which had 3.362m for their finale. Figures expected to rise next week due to the reunion episode being heavily talked about - http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/08/24...uch-more/60960). |

Seems like Big Brother is still doing good business in the US, reaching season highs and demographically beating AGT. The question now is if they can last as long as Survivor and ANTM, which are entering season 21 and 15 respectively. Big Brother is also doing good business in France as they have two different versions/formats - Secret Story (take-off from Loft Story) and Dilemme. Minute to Win It should be worried now. Struggled heavily during 2009-10 season and now in Summer season, poor retention from AGT.
As for Big Brother, I do wonder if Five would be better going to Endemol and asking them to do something similar (people living in a house) but with a new angle or branding? |
