I doubt it would work, but I think the ratings show the main summer series has no legs left, but special versions have plenty of mileage. But I think anything above 4 weeks is just too long now.

An idea for Channel 5 (if they do pick it up) could be to run Celebrity Big Brother every January and then in the summer run a spin off series with a different theme each year, or even using the Celebrity Hijack format in the summer.

I see c5 are going to run The Wright Stuff in peak time in a couple of weeks. Not new shows but compilation highlights of the series from the last 10 years. Anyone think it will work? Sounds to me like it could bomb.

The judges hinted at this recently, John was interviewed and said they would love to go down that route. I'm really disappointed, as I hate the Australian version, but you never know, if they hold on to elements of the current version, and take some of the good challenges from the Oz one, it could be specatacular.

Thats what I think they'll do, The Australian version runs 6 nights a week for months and can be dragged out in places, according to the press release this will be a 15 hour long series, so they just wont be able to do everything the OZ version does.

I'm a bit apprehensive about it too but I think the heats have become too repetitive and dropping that is a good idea imo. I think they'll be concentrating on the outside challenges a lot more.

It's true the heats are gone a bit dull, and lat year getting rid of the identifying the ingredients and passion test were welcome changes. The palette test and skills test are way better. The series has been slowly growing in popularity so I guess it was time to go for it.

Well today was the 6000th episode in Australia, and to be honest i can't see it doing well due to the fact they basically showed what happens today at the beginning of each episode this week.

Hopefully the reveal will garner more interest.

never mind ELEVEN, that rating is not much to celebrate in a week where ratings should be better than normal.

I think thats a possibility because of the publicity around whos going in and the bedsit scenario although I'd personally expect around 3.7m.

I thought they would be higher. Most people that I've spoke to have said the quality has been well up for these episodes.

the week started well, the shows first 700,000 in a few weeks, but that Thursday rating is nothing specail.

I have been watching at Oz pace and i personally think they have been excellent, compared to the past few years. I wonder what sort of numbers it will get on Eleven. Not sure what sort of figures at digital channel gets in Oz, anyone know?
