A 6 o'clock slot for Dr Who would work fine - weather getting more miserable (than August 2010? That's not possible.), nights getting darker earlier...

If there's no X Factor as competition they could have the Strictly results on the same night, using Doctor Who in the sandwich:

I can't see any channel being able to compete with that, and I'm sure BBC1 have enough shows to support Sunday without Stritcly taking up a slot.

Apparently Keith Duffy has opened his mouth too wide on Magic Numbers and has gone and said that Coronation Street will be having a live episode in December to commemorate with the show's 50th anniversary.

It was reported a few weeks ago that there would be a live episode following the tram crash, showing the aftermath an keeping up the suspense of who lives or dies.

On the other hand, it's Super Sunday tomorrow and lots of 16-34s will be staying in. So, this may have an effect on the night as a whole.

Must Be The Music will really dip tomorrow I think - as it's a Bank Holiday weekend.

Prediction: 10.7m

Cast Your Mind Back to Feb and the EP was saying how they will not do a live episode becuase they've been there and done that and now they are doing one.
I took that as a dig at Eastenders for doing one and i guess they know they need to go LIVE to pull in the viewers

Yeah it's more desperate because of the fact they ruled it out. It's clear they're only doing one now in light of EE's highly successful one.

Well Corrie is a creek of old crappage. So live or pre recorded six weeks earlier aint gonna change it.

I find it funny how EastEnders is having a Big Month In september with anumber of massive storylines yet Corrie is just putting all it's effort into 1 week of episodes

I don't think Corrie has the same amount of casual viewers as Enders does either

Touch's pilot was supposed to air earlier this year with the original 3 BBC3 drama pilots but it was fasttracked to a full series immediately after filming.

Of the 3 that aired, none are being picked up. Pulse was close but it's AI score was supposed to be disappointing.

Corrie LIve for it's 40th got beaten by an EastEnders episode of that week

Putting my so called 'obsession' with EastEnders and my Love For Corrie aside i really don't think Cs has the same amount of casual Viewers as EastEnders does

I think ITV will run it across the week with another big show so that could go in it's favor abit

The X Factor was dull tonight. Forget autotune, this show has to be the most lazily edited in the history of television. Maybe they were so busy trying to remove (or at least reduce) the effects of autotune that they didn't worry too much about the actual content and structure. But it was even more formulaic and predictable than usual tonight. From the way the whole Dublin auditions were put together and the subsequent ridiculing of Louis, to the fact the best audition was saved until the end and made to look like the last of the day, to the way Simon asked for a second song from that girl who was a little too cabaret. Seen it all before! Even the delightful Katy Perry couldn't save tonight's show from being utterly underwhelming.

Also didn't like how they filmed some contestants carrying out their mundane day jobs; for example, the lady who worked on the tills at Tesco. Apart from giving the game away, it added no value whatsoever. If she was an astronaut or something then fair enough, but a retail worker? We all know what a supermarket looks like so hearing that information would suffice, we don't need to see it as well. Just get on with it and cut out all this nonsense in between.

After a strong start last week bar autotune-gate, this was a really poor episode for The X Factor's standards. I'll rate it a generous 3/10 and I'm not expecting it to top 10m.

it will be interesting to see which rates better.

I will say however I am worried that this is last minute planning by ITV, to create and create an event similar to the BBC live ep, for the Corrie anniversy, not something that was planned well in advance like the EE Live ep was.

I do love X Factor but something just does not sit right for me this series. There doesn't seem to be any stand out singers this year. See, Dannii goes off on maternity and everything collapses lol
